Everything is looking great so far. 😬
I just had a follow-up appointment recently, and the results were solid.
It’s been about 15 months since my surgery, and I haven't run into any issues at all.
I'm really hoping things stay this smooth moving forward. 😁
It might just be some kind of "halo" effect. I deal with that myself whenever I'm in low-light settings; my pupils dilate past the edges of my lenses, which causes the light to refract in a weird way.
But honestly, it’s a totally normal thing, so I don't let it get me worked up. 😉
In what way exactly do you mean you can't see clearly? 🤷
So, I heard about this guy who went in to get lens implants, and he thought Medicare was going to pick up the tab.
But I just found out he’s actually getting surgery for cataracts, not just correcting his vision prescription. 😬
It's a completely different ballgame. They basically swap out the natural lens for an artificial one.
Which means, yeah, there won't be any discounts or coverage left for him. 😁
As for the side effects? Honestly, I haven't got a clue. A neighbor of mine had the exact same thing done about three years ago, and he hasn't had a single issue since. 🤷
Honestly, they’ve even started feeling soft enough to irritate my eyes. After wearing them for more than five or six hours, I start dealing with redness and irritation. Plus, I can't exactly wear them at the beach because the salt water just eats away at them. I usually just recognize people by the color of their swimsuits instead. 😬
I’ve been this way since day one. Things just haven't exactly trended upward for me.
And honestly, I am pretty much fed up with the same old budget meals every single night. 😁
I'm just being cautious here. We're looking at technology that's barely a decade old, so there are still a ton of unknowns.
Plus, I’m really trying to keep costs down. Why would I drop more than $6.75 on the folks over at Light when other providers actually have contracts with Medicare?
I just need to figure out which provider that is. 😬
I've been Googling for an hour straight and I'm coming up empty. 🤷
Hey there!
I couldn't find an existing thread about this, so I figured I’d just start my own.
Basically, my prescription is sitting at -10 and -11, which means I'm totally out of the running for LASIK. My next best bet is getting intraocular lenses implanted.
They basically sit in a little pocket between the cornea and the iris.
The cost for the surgery itself is pretty much on par with laser correction, but it seems like only a handful of specialized clinics in the US actually offer it.
There are a few things I'm trying to figure out.
1. Has anyone here actually gone through with this procedure? I'd love to hear your stories.
2. Besides Mayo Clinic, does anyone know which other major hospitals or eye centers perform this? I haven't had much luck finding a full list.
3. Does any clinic take Medicare, and if so, what would the out-of-pocket cost look like after coverage kicks in?
Thanks! 🙂
Kevin Nelson said:Man, I can't get Overlord to launch. It keeps asking for DirectX 9—specifically that d3dx9_dll file.
I downloaded the file and dropped it straight into the game folder, but now when I try to run the game, absolutely nothing happens. 🤷 I even tried running it in compatibility mode, but still nothing.
I knew I should have just stuck with Windows XP. 😢
You need to drop that .dll file into the System32 folder. 😉
I ran into the exact same thing once. But look, it's an easy fix, just like I said.
By the way, Windows 7 is actually pretty awesome! I had some hiccups getting certain .exe files to trigger, but then I just used compatibility mode to run them as if they were on Windows XP SP2 or SP3, and boom—problem solved. 🙂
Casey Long2 said:The 240t is basically just a rebranded 9600. Do you really have to pick from this specific list? If I were shopping today, I’d go straight for the 250t or the 4850. Out of these options, though, the 9800 is the way to go. How much cash are you planning to drop?
I actually already picked up a 4730 for about $200. It absolutely crushes everything. My only gripe is how much power it sucks out of the wall. It requires two power connectors, too. The thing is massive... 🙂
I need some help settling a debate.
Should I go with the Radeon HD 4850 or the 9800GT? And I’m also looking at how they stack up against a GeForce 4730. 🤷
I’ve combed through everything. The only ones I managed to track down require Everest to be running in the background, which is just super clunky for me. Ugh... seriously, how hard can it be to find a better option? I honestly can't believe this... 🙂
Does anyone happen to know of a solid little gadget or app for keeping an eye on my CPU and GPU temps, overall system stats, and stuff like that? 🤷
The track runs right underneath the grandstands. I mean, who wouldn't want to be right in the thick of it? 😍
Honestly, props to the designers on this one. Being there is going to be an absolute rush. I seriously can't wait for qualifying to kick off. 🙂
