Thanks for the input!
I am well aware that it is an option, but there is just something about Windows XP that I find much more appealing.

Best,

Personally, I wouldn't bother messing around with that level of headache; XP is end-of-life and lacks any modern security support, which I assume is common knowledge by now—the vulnerability to attacks is simply too high..

My suggestion would be to just install Windows 7 Starter instead, and then dive into the performance settings to disable all the unnecessary fluff like visual effects and such. That should provide a reasonably smooth experience..

Here are the drivers you requested:

Personally, I wouldn't bother messing around with that—Windows XP doesn't even receive support anymore, which I assume you're already aware of, and the security risks from potential attacks are just too massive..

My advice would be to just install Windows 7 Starter and then go into the performance settings to disable all the unnecessary fluff, like the visual effects and such. That should give you a perfectly functional experience..

Thanks for the reply!
I'm aware of the risks, but I was still considering installing Windows XP after seeing online that drivers actually exist, even if they aren't hosted on HP's official sites; I even stumbled upon examples where people have Windows XP running, like in this video for instance:

Well, that one is specifically about an audio driver, but that's beside the point; the situation with Windows XP is even more complicated.

Greetings!
I’m currently struggling with an HP Mini 200 - 4200 SM PC running Windows 7, and frankly, the experience is agonizingly slow. The hardware specs are quite underwhelming, especially since I'm stuck with just 1 GB of RAM. I thought about downgrading to Windows XP to see if things might run a bit smoother, but there seems to be a catch: it looks like HP only provides drivers for Windows 7 and newer. Regardless of that issue, my immediate problem is simply being unable to get the XP installation to proceed. I attempted to integrate the AHCI driver using nLite and even tried loading it via a USB floppy drive by pressing F6 during the initial setup, but nothing worked. The installer actually recognizes the driver and starts pulling it from the floppy, but then everything grinds to a halt. Once it reaches the part where the license agreement appears—where you're supposed to hit F8—the hard drives fail to show up entirely, and the system just hangs there indefinitely. Does anyone know if pressing ESC helps?
I went through a mountain of different drivers before finally settling on the NM10 one.
If anyone happens to know the trick to successfully installing Windows XP on an HP Mini, I would truly appreciate the guidance.

Thanks in advance!

Well... I just tested this from a different machine running Windows XP and it prints perfectly fine; I ran several tests and didn't run into a single hiccup. Now, here is the real dilemma: if I attempt to reinstall everything on the original computer—the one where nothing works quite right because it's running Windows 7 64-bit—and I end up facing the exact same issue again... well, that would be frustrating. Wouldn't it be much better if I could simply find a way to resolve this manually, without having to resort to a full system reinstallation?

Thanks for getting back to me. I have already given that a shot—if I recall correctly, I might have even mentioned it in my very first post. I’ve exhausted just about every other avenue at this point, though I suppose I still need to test things out from a different computer, which is something I haven't managed to do yet...

Well, here I am, running a little behind schedule! It isn't an issue with the paper, either—I’ve already experimented with different weights and qualities just to be sure. Whether I’m attempting to print from Word 2010 or directly from an email, nothing seems to work... So, I went ahead and tried a different driver. I haven't bothered testing a different USB port yet, though I find that hard to believe would be the culprit; perhaps my next move should be testing this on another computer to see if the problem follows the machine.

I neglected to mention that I'm running Windows 7 Home 64-Bit. As far as I can tell, I am already using the most recent driver available.

My apologies, I neglected to mention that I’ve already attempted a driver reinstallation, though I am now somewhat uncertain as to whether I selected the most recent version. I shall have to double-check which specific version is currently installed.

Greetings!
I would be immensely grateful if someone could lend me a hand here. I’m dealing with an HP LaserJet printer problem where the machine essentially refuses to cooperate after printing just a single page. After that one successful sheet, I have to power the whole thing down and restart it just to get it working again. If I don't, the printer starts beeping at me three times, the red LED begins flashing, and the display flashes this cryptic error message: "load correct paper cassette:ltr". The strange thing is, my paper and tray are perfectly aligned, and I've double-checked everything—both in the printer's internal settings and within the software I'm using—to ensure they are set to Letter format. Yet, despite everything being configured correctly, the cycle repeats: one page prints, the error triggers, and I'm forced into a constant loop of turning the machine off and on again just to limp through my work. Is there any logic to this madness?
Thanks!
