I'm well aware this isn't top-tier memory..
If I had the cash lying around, I’d just build a whole new rig..
But for now, I'm stuck patching this old thing together.....

I've already flashed the latest BIOS...
I managed to track down a $167 processor on Craigslist...

The RAM is Micron 2 x2GB....
DDR2 800MHz...

I spotted some 4x4GB kits on eBay for about $30—same brand, too....

Hey everyone. I could use a little guidance here..
I’m not exactly an expert on this stuff, so I was hoping someone could clear things up for me..

I've got a machine that's about 7 years old now...

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix
Graphics Card: Radeon HD4670
Memory: 4GB Hynix....

I mainly use this rig for converting movies from DVD to DivX or MKV... depending on what I need at the time...
I don't do any gaming on it...

I'm wondering if adding some more RAM and swapping in a faster processor would actually speed up my encoding tasks?
The board is Socket AM3 Ready...

I was thinking about hunting down an Intel Core i7 on Craigslist......
And I can probably grab the RAM on eBay....

Will that give me a noticeable boost, or am I better off just buying all new components altogether...?

Money is a bit tight right now...

I finally managed to delete that Google folder, and it hasn't tried to crawl back since... I did a bit of digging through the directories on my primary drive and stumbled upon
another leftover folder from Norton Antivirus...
Once I cleared that out, everything finally settled down and went back to normal....

Is anyone else still running that McAfee software?
Just wondering if it's actually worth installing on a machine.....

Someone over on Buggy's forum suggested using CCleaner...
A supposed "all-in-one" cleaner... people swear by it...
So, naturally, I gave it a shot. It didn't live up to the hype for me at all...
I decided to Delete it...

I used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of it...

But here's the thing: there's this one folder left behind that just won't budge. Every time I try to kill it, it pops right back up...

My computer is running fine otherwise—no lag, no glitches, nothing acting up...

It feels clean and organized, with no other trace of that Google software left...

Except for that one stubborn folder...

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this, but I figured I'd lay out what's happening and see if anyone has some advice to offer...

So, here's the deal:
A folder named Google suddenly appeared in my Documents folder. Inside, there's another one labeled "common," along with some "conf" files...
When I select the folder, it says it's "😈shared with everyone...
" I tried adjusting the permissions to stop the sharing, but it won't let me. It just refuses to cooperate...
I also tried to Delete the folder, but it keeps coming back no matter what I do...

I went into the Registry and scrubbed everything related to Google, yet that folder is still sitting there...

I ran scans with Malwarebytes and various Spybot tools, but they didn't flag a single thing...

The computer seems clean...

But honestly, that folder is starting to drive me crazy...😵

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this?

Reinstalling macOS isn't really an option for me right now...
