I only brought it up because they keep picking it over and over again as the best festival in all of Europe.

Honestly, I’d love to catch FF live myself since—by some miracle—I haven't been living under a rock lately (What, have you been living under a boulder?! 😁 ), but vividraven7 is spot on here. I mean it, I sign off on every single word they said.
To make matters even worse, the legendary Lollapalooza is looking absolutely abysmal this year—the lineup is a total train wreck. Honestly, the only thing remotely saving them from complete irrelevance is Motörhead. It feels like every single year, they just sink a little deeper into the gutter.
The whole poll thing is just a convenient excuse to dodge accountability. And honestly, where the hell are the actual results anyway? I’m starting to seriously doubt if those people at the top even have a clue what they're doing.

meh.

For the 23rd time...🥱

On the Coachella website: "The FFS performance (Franz Ferdinand & Sparks) adds even more punch to this year's already incredible Coachella lineup..."

What a ridiculous bit of self-praise... The lineup is actually halfway decent at best right now. It’s like they don't get that draw is all about stacking up massive, popular, and actually relevant names (though you can always throw in those legends like The Rolling Stones or Bruce Springsteen to seal the deal), rather than just piling on indie bands—regardless of how good they are, which is subjective anyway—or dragging out The Prodigy, who apparently refuse to die, yet somehow keep getting shoved down our throats as a headliner. And people just swallow it. Honestly, I'm part of the problem too. 😁
Look, I’ve got nothing against Busted, really, but they felt a bit phoned in—honestly, just as lackluster as Placebo's set.
It was pretty underwhelming if you ask me... especially for a big ten-year anniversary celebration.
5. The staff is completely clueless about where anything is. I asked four different people where the press center was—which isn't even marked on the map in the booklet—and not a single soul knew, not even the folks at the info booth.

Look, hand on heart here, this kind of mess happens everywhere, even outside of America. Honestly, I think the press operations are always secondary to Live Nation.

6. The selective bullshit with people and just picking and choosing who gets what based on whoever they feel like is totally pointless. One day I'm allowed to bring my Walmart camera, then the next day they won't let my friend in because she's hanging out with some idiot.

The security guards are just thugs, there's no debating it. They should be dealt with one by one. Though, I guess if you're a journalist you might get a pass while she doesn't, so there's some twisted logic to it, I suppose.

And who exactly told him to pad his card using someone else's pension instead of actually keeping track of his receipts? 🤣
But yeah, they're jerks, no doubt about it. The beer is definitely overpriced, too. If they weren't such morons, the crowd would probably spend twice as much instead of just loitering around the entrance like a bunch of losers.

They didn't have to give away the rain ponchos for free; they could have at least sold them. $1.75, they would have sold like hotcakes. Same goes for the boots. And don't even get me started on how they could have fixed that whole mud disaster. It wouldn't have needed to be everywhere; just fixing up the party tent area would've been plenty. Someone mentioned sand and straw, but when I was over in Austria once, they used sawdust. And huge rugs! Meanwhile, the main stage setup at Sziget uses those plastic interlocking tiles—honeycomb structure, honestly a brilliant solution.

Total amateurs after nine years in the game. Maybe that's their "surprise" for the tenth anniversary—acquiring zero-brainpower staff instead of booking a heavy-hitting headliner.

Well, at least they brought back the cards this year. And they finally brought back the program booklets; last year they acted like they'd never heard of them.
I honestly have no clue what MGMT actually sounds like on their studio albums because I’ve never bothered to sit down and listen to them, but man, seeing them live was a total letdown. It’s like their live shows are just completely missing that spark—kind of like how their name feels like it's missing a few vowels or something. Just feels incomplete, you know? 😁 Honestly, it was totally uninspiring—just bloodless, hollow, and incredibly boring. You can't even use that terrible sound system everyone’s been trashing as an excuse for how lackluster this was. It’s like Dragaš would say: just plain mediocre. Honestly, Jagwar Ma and Digitalism completely blew them out of the water. Sure, those two might be your typical, cliché "druggy" indie DJs, but at least they cranked the volume high enough to make the windows rattle on buildings a mile down the road.

Trust me, you didn't miss a damn thing.
Alexander Cruz32 said:And don't even get me started on how brain-dead these gig schedules are—like, saying someone wants to play at a venue like The Forum (which is basically half-empty by 1:30 AM) but they're actually working tomorrow, or treating a legendary band like the Foo Fighters like they're some pathetic opening act just because some random nobodies are getting the prime time slot? It’s pure, unadulterated organizer stupidity.

Stupidity or not, the fact remains. Even Kane himself made a sarcastic comment about the exact same thing. At least now we don't have the headliners overlapping with Universal Music Group anymore.
