Fixed it: you just gotta make sure the Hotspot mode is actually toggled on in the TP-Link config utility
So, my keyboard and scrolling just straight up stop working for like a solid minute every time I start using them... unless I click the left mouse button first. It’s super weird. Like, if I’m hanging out in Chrome, the window just turns all gray and unresponsive until I give the mouse a left click. Same thing happens when I’m gaming, too. I just freshly installed macOS, so it’s not some old junk setting, and even trying a system restore didn't do anything. I guess I'm just stuck. Any idea what the hell is causing this?

thanks 👍
So, I’ve got this ZTE 931 VII router sitting down in my basement, and my PC is all the way up on the second floor. Honestly, the connection is pretty garbage right now because the signal is basically nonexistent—I'm stuck using this old TP-Link TL-WN751ND thing. I was looking at this adapter
https://www.asus.com/Networking/USBN14/, and I guess I'm wondering if it actually works, or if there's something better out there for the same kind of money. Or maybe I should just stop messing around with USB sticks and look into a different network setup entirely?

@graniteharbor85 I didn't really know much about that RAM, so I figured maybe it'd be better to just grab something else instead.
Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I guess I wanted to hear more perspectives before pulling the trigger. I'll probably just sit here and see what I end up picking out.
I don't really need the hard drive, just tell me what kind of power supply I should grab at most $50 more. And honestly, I'm on the fence about the RAM because I haven't messed around with that brand before, so I was thinking maybe I'll just go with someone else.

exactly $1520
1 x Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz (PC3-12800) CL11
1 x GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P, AM3+
1 x Zalman Z1, USB3.0 black, 2x120mm
1 x LC POWER LC-CC-95, socket 775/1155/1156/AMD
1 x Gigabyte R9 280 WF3 OC, 3GB GDDR5, HDMI, DVI
1 x AMD FX X6 6300 3.5Ghz (4.1GHz) box
1 x Fortron Raider S 550W, 80+ SILVER
Some guy on another forum suggested this setup, total comes to about $1500. A buddy of mine mentioned I should probably swap out the power supply, and I was thinking maybe grabbing some different RAM instead. Just wondering what you guys think about it all.

I mean, why are you even stressing over this?
It shows .avi and .mp3 right there, so I don't really get what the big deal is about the labels...
Whenever I try to sync up a movie filename with the subtitle file, I have to name both things "Elite Killer.srt" and "Elite Killer.avi" instead of just using "Elite Killer".
😠
Windows 7 keeps recognizing those .mp3 and .avi extensions, which is why they stay hidden. I know back on Windows XP you could probably fix that with some codec packs or whatever, but on 7... it just doesn't work like that...
Why does my srt file always show the .srt extension at the end? Like, it says "Killer Elite.srt" right there on the screen, almost like Windows doesn't even realize what kind of file it's looking at.
I'm with you on that one. I dropped $153 on my own Z523 setup and honestly, those speakers are killer... maybe try hunting around for a deal somewhere if you want to save some cash
That’s what I figured too, honestly... just assumed anyone rocking that keyboard was happy with it and that the whole price-to-performance thing was a total win.
So, I'm looking to pick up a new keyboard, maybe spending around $67 max. I've already had a couple of them basically fry on me... specifically a Microsoft Basic Keyboard and a Logitech Media Keyboard 600. Not exactly thrilled about those, honestly. What's the verdict on them? If you guys have any better suggestions, just let me know.
I'm trying to whip up an HD video for YouTube and I really want to export it as a WMV file. But every time I try to convert it to that format, I just get this error saying there are no templates available for this format.
Maybe it's because I only have one clip and a song in the timeline or something??
So, I'm looking to pick up some computer speakers for my setup in $150... any recommendations?
