IBM R40. It's an old machine, but I hold it incredibly dear. After a fresh system reinstall, the Fn-Fnešto shortcut to enable the Wi-Fi isn't working anymore, even though everything else seems to be functioning perfectly. Can anyone help me out?!!
I also suspect the driver is the culprit, though I was worried I might have actually fried my hard drive. I'm going to go ahead and reinstall Windows 7 on it. Thanks for the help.
I am in need of some assistance, dear friends... The computer I use strictly for web browsing has started slowing down significantly, and the CD-ROM is no longer functioning. I attempted a workaround by removing the hard drive and installing Windows XP onto it using a different PC (it was previously running Windows 7), and everything worked perfectly there. However, once I reinstall the drive into the original machine, everything seems fine initially, but as soon as the Windows XP loading screen appears, the monitor turns blue and the system immediately restarts. When I put that same drive back into the second computer, it works without issue. If anyone could offer some guidance, I would be most grateful.
When I power on my PC, the fans spin up, but there's absolutely nothing appearing on the monitor. I've already double-checked all the cables and reseated the graphics card after cleaning everything out. Now I have to wonder: is the motherboard dead, or could it be something else entirely?
