MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
Kudos on the flares. But let’s be honest, one flashy display doesn't reflect the actual state of the fanbase. I've already posted half a dozen comparisons here where people acting like hardcore supporters from outside the city just try to claim territory. It's all optics.

Seeing the flares lit up downtown again is impressive, sure. But the Demons and the Funcuti aren't even playing in the same league—that's just an objective fact, whether people want to admit it or not.

Here’s a reality check: someone should just grab a photo from the last time the Demons traveled and put it next to the last time the Funcuti actually showed up. If they even bothered to show up at all. They probably just gathered for the flare display to get a decent shot for social media.

After this debate wraps up, we should probably resurrect that classic gem from ar87.

Just a bunch of Armada leaders drowning in their own egos.
Less screen time, more real life!

Now, as for what you're claiming? Well, I can't say for sure that you aren't being subjective, but let's be real—it feels pretty biased from where I'm sitting, don't you think? We can talk about this topic with total realism because we don't have any skin in the game over in Miami, and honestly, we couldn't care less about what happens there unless we're just messing around! But you guys? You've got everything to gain from what's happening in Savannah, and you're always looking at it with those hungry eyes because, let's face it, you actually *can* grab it for yourselves. Your whole goal is basically an occupation, whereas we have zero interest in doing that to Savannah. All we want is for them to finally shake you guys off so they can just breathe easy and enjoy some actual freedom! I really hope I managed to make it clear why you absolutely have to take our word for it on this one. Cheers 👍

🤣🤣🤣

You really are a king, 😁

As for the rest of the post, I don't agree with you, but let's just end this here because it's going nowhere. 👍

So, you think the Funcuti are just charming because they suck up to the Boys and share that mutual hatred for Hajduk? ☕

Nicole Jackson3 said:Just look at the birthday celebrations for Demon and Funcut—you can clearly see where the real supporters are and where they aren't.

When it comes to raw numbers, a city like Portland has about 650,000 people while somewhere like Savannah has around 145,000. Sure, Portland might have an edge since more people there follow the big local team compared to Savannah, but the sheer population size still favors Portland.
And honestly, look at some of those Funcut basketball games; they’re easily on par with Demon’s energy. 👍

It seems to me there's no logic here, just pure bitterness toward Savannah and the Funcuts driving this. I say let both groups grow. Let local pride flourish and finally put an end to all these artificial territorial disputes. 👍

Can you believe what John Kim wrote?

It’s clear the hatred you folks in the North harbor for the Demons is blinding you; you’re writing from such a bitter perspective instead of showing an ounce of objectivity.
Zero objectivity here. You're trying to manipulate the narrative through your inferiority complex regarding the Demons. Honestly, nobody would be happier than me if 300 Funcuts showed up to every away game against the home team in Seattle. I’d sign that deal in a heartbeat. As for the streets, I’ve had my best fights alongside the Funcuts. But everything else I mentioned stands. You’re coming at me with comparisons to basketball? Look, the Funcuts are mediocre at basketball, too. Just watch their matchups or their trips to play teams in Miami. It’s subpar and doesn't even compare to the Demons. Why is it so hard for you all to admit? We'll end this topic here, but it's obvious from miles away who is speaking from a place of pure insecurity.
And one more thing. You actually think there are more local fans in Seattle than in Savannah? Don't embarrass yourself. There isn't an active sub-group of the main fan club in the whole region, whereas the Savannah contingent is one of the leading groups in the South.
The sheer amount of nonsense you write, and then you have the nerve to claim people are just making things up out of spite.

goldentinker8 said:And what part of that isn't clear to you, man? Seriously... at some point, the hype just hits! It’s not the same feeling for fans in a city like Portland as it is for the Hajduk crowd when it comes to the title race, you know? It’s not the same for them aiming for Europe as it is for Istra or San Jose. It’s not the same for a team fighting for promotion to the top flight as it is for Istra... everything has its own vibe. But honestly, I just can't wrap my head around how you can have so little respect for a group of fans who, during their absolute peak—their best moment ever—show up for the biggest away game against their most hated rival, a chance to knock them right out of Europe, and they still can't even fill up the stadium? For real, what kind of situation is that? To me, that doesn't carry any more weight than a local supporters' club, but hey, if that's how you see it, cool. Let's just end the debate right here. 👍

They outclass the Funcuts in every single metric of fandom. Just look at the away game presence. Look at the messaging. Compare the visuals, the choreography, the sheer energy of the chanting, even the banners. In every category, they’re in a different league entirely. The only thing keeping them neck-and-neck is those minor away attendance numbers—not that the Funcuts are any more consistent, often skipping trips or showing up without even a single banner. Is there anything else left to debate?

I honestly don't get the hype surrounding this sudden euphoria. Sure, they’re picking up points bit by bit, but let’s be real—they were fighting just to stay out of the relegation zone until last year. This "seven wins and three draws" undefeated streak isn't the miracle people think it is. The league is pretty mediocre right now, which is why they suddenly look like they have a slim shot at qualifying for Europe. But anyone who actually follows American soccer knows that for a team like this, making a European run is a massive long shot.

goldentinker8 said:Look, Istra's numbers aren't shameful at all if you actually take a look at the competition and the size of the city we're talking about... they're pretty much on par with places like San Antonio, Indianapolis, or maybe Cincinnati. If anything, San Antonio pulls the biggest crowds relative to those cities because they aren't being cannibalized by huge fanbases from Dallas or Houston like the others are! For instance, people won't even let you guys show up in numbers big enough to matter. You see the true scale of a club's fanbase when that massive wave of euphoria hits the whole city, but unfortunately... well, Americans just don't seem to have that kind of stadium culture, right? The only real signs of that starting to happen lately have been over in places like Seattle... Before, back in the day, whenever something big happened in our town, the crew would just pack up and head out by the hundreds or even thousands to whatever city was hosting—whether it was during the old days or the early 2000s, those are just facts! Nowadays, our boys can never pull more than 20 or 30 people for an away game, or maybe 50 to 100 for a cup match. And honestly? Every other local group has the exact same struggle. Any argument ends the second someone tries to trash the local supporters, especially when the crew follows all kinds of different sports too. Man, why even lie to ourselves? It feels like you guys are just dying to prove that folks from San Antonio are total losers, but I gotta ask... compared to who, exactly? ☕

That’s a lie. More Demons show up to a friendly match in Verona than Uncut does to play the Heat in Miami.
