I am wholeheartedly in favor of organ donation. I’ve carried my donor card in my wallet for quite some time now, and it’s my firm belief that family consent shouldn't be a requirement in these circumstances. That was the way it was explained to me at the clinic, after all. Ultimately, signing that card represents a deeply personal choice, much like any other significant life decision—so I can't help but wonder why anyone else should have the final say over my own wishes once I'm gone.

I have struggled with hemorrhoids for as long as I can remember, but I simply cannot wrap my head around how they suddenly become so swollen and protruding all on their own.

Ever since I gave birth about two and a half months ago, they haven't let up at all. I actually went through two full boxes of Daflon hoping for relief, but instead, the bleeding just started right back up again. And don't even get me started on the pain—it's unbearable. Even after finishing those two boxes, I haven't felt even a shred of improvement. 🙂
To make matters worse, I've dealt with chronic constipation my entire life. Honestly, it’s such a dreadful feeling whenever I know I have to use the restroom, because I know exactly what kind of physical torture is waiting for me on the other side. 😢 I would genuinely rather go through labor all over again than endure this struggle, though thankfully, it isn't a daily occurrence. But on those days when it does happen, I end up breaking out in a sweat like I've just finished running a marathon... it is truly a disaster.

I am honestly at a loss as to what steps to take next. 🤷

The cream I use is called Eucerin.

The absolute worst part is that I've always dealt with really hard stools. To be honest, it’s genuinely distressing when I know I have to use the bathroom because I know exactly what kind of torture is waiting for me.😢 I would honestly rather go through labor all over again than deal with this nightmare; luckily, I don't have to go every single day. But on the days I do, I end up sweating like I just finished running a full marathon... it is an absolute disaster.

I am just at a total loss as to what to do next.🤷

There is this wonderful herbal cream from Italy that was a total lifesaver for me. I'll check my cabinets at home to see exactly what it's called and let you know.

I can receive everything just fine, but for some reason, sending them out feels like trying to drive through a heavy fog—everything just stalls. If she hasn't seen it yet, would someone mind dropping their email address in a private message?🤷

I’ve received everything, and I truly can't thank you enough. In fact, I’ve already sent over a few more questions via private message, because honestly, I haven't found anyone else who could provide such detailed, expert answers. Thank God.
Maria Jones40 said:Well, I was actually trying to express that while every individual story is unique—much like how one person might thrive on a specific diet while another struggles—statistics still tell a broader truth, even if we don't always see it clearly at first glance.

I realized I completely forgot to ask Maria Jones40 if it would be alright to reach out via a private message.
Maria Jones40 said:This is exactly the field I specialize in. While it’s true that every single person stands apart from the numbers, we really can't afford to ignore those broad statistical trends.

I find myself nodding along with Angela Wright regarding how every patient is a unique soul, and how this devastating illness manifests differently in everyone; however, I am also incredibly grateful to Maria Jones40 for providing such a clear, professional breakdown of how the Avast treatment actually works.
Maria Jones40 said:Avastin is utilized as a frontline treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer here in the States, typically paired alongside chemotherapy. It’s important to note that it doesn't function like a traditional chemo agent; instead, it works much like a gardener pruning a plant by inhibiting the formation of new blood vessels that feed the tumor, effectively slowing its growth and spread. The regimen usually involves administration every two weeks until any signs of disease progression appear. Most patients find it relatively well-tolerated, though one should keep an eye out for side effects like elevated blood pressure—which requires regular monitoring and adjustments—as well as potential kidney issues, where checking urine for protein is key, or risks like thrombosis, embolism, and heart muscle weakening. More severe complications can include gastrointestinal bleeding or organ perforation, which are understandably serious. However, in clinical practice, it is generally quite manageable. While the advent of newer medications has certainly revolutionized how we approach this, metastatic disease remains incurable; our primary goal shifts toward enhancing quality of life and extending longevity, which is truly what matters most.

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like a complete cure isn't an option. You aren't being overly optimistic, and based on the way you explain things, I get the impression you are quite highly trained in this field.
Maria Jones40 said:What exactly is it about Avastin that you're looking to find out?

I am primarily curious about the overall success rate of treatments involving Avastin, much like how one might weigh the efficacy of a new medication, and I would also appreciate learning more about what kind of side effects one might expect to encounter.

I did read that, along with a few other pieces regarding Austin. It’s quite like any major medical breakthrough—you’ll always find people cheering for it and others expressing skepticism. Since it's only recently become available here in the States, I'm not entirely certain how many patients have actually had the chance to access it yet, but I am sincerely hoping it proves to be a success for those who need it.
Angela Wright said:It’s actually quite helpful to note that there is an open discussion thread regarding this exact subject right on our association's website.

I am curious to know if anyone here has any firsthand experience or insights regarding the treatment of colon cancer using that newer "smart" medication, Austin.
A huge thank you to Angela Wright!🙂
Hello everyone. This is my first time visiting this forum, and I’m hoping to learn a bit more about dealing with colon cancer that has spread to the liver. Surgery has already been completed to remove the affected areas, and now we are just waiting to begin chemotherapy. If anyone here has any insights or experiences regarding this particular battle, I would truly appreciate your wisdom. Thank you.
