It feels like everything just needs to be checked off the list all at once; there’s no second act. I hope you're holding up okay through the chaos.
Man, I hear you, and honestly, I am not looking forward to it either. 😢
Wait, what do you mean by "chaos"?

Go ahead and get the tests they recommend, but if everything comes back physically clear, it might not be a bad idea to sit down with a psychiatrist or a psychologist. And honestly, stick to the basics we should all be following: eat healthy and varied meals, stay hydrated, keep moving, get enough sleep, boost your immune system, and find a hobby or something meaningful to occupy your mind. 🙂
I mean, yeah, I’m aware of that—especially given the stressors I mentioned... but I’ve been "successfully" managing that level of stress for years now, so it feels incredibly strange that these consequences are hitting me all at once. It’s like everything just 😕
I’ve actually considered seeing a psychologist myself; I’m definitely keeping that option on the table.
It’s always felt a little surreal to me how something that feels so intensely physical can be traced back to your mental state, but after reading up on it and listening to people talk about it, I know it’s entirely possible. Still, this lower back pain feels pretty damn real to me 🙂
I’ve never been much of an athlete, but I haven't dealt with any major health issues or significant weight problems either (okay, maybe an extra 10 pounds here or there). I’m in my mid-twenties, yet I feel like I’ve "suddenly" developed a massive laundry list of health complaints.
For several years now, I've been dealing with this nagging pain on the left side of my chest. I’ve had EKGs done multiple times—all perfectly normal—and both my primary care doctor and my cardiologist have given me the all-clear, but that sensation of discomfort just disappears and then inevitably crawls back. I’m taking things more seriously lately because it’s becoming overwhelming; I recently did a stress test and a Holter monitor, so now I'm just waiting on the results. My blood work looks fine, too. On top of that, my legs are constantly aching. There have been times where I woke up completely immobilized by stiffness—likely a pinched nerve—leading me to see a physiatrist for chronic issues in my cervical and lumbar spine. Then there are the headaches; I've had them for ages, sometimes so debilitatingly intense that I end up nauseous and forced to lie motionless in a dark room with something over my eyes because even light and sound feel painful. Over the last few months, I’ve also started experiencing tinnitus, and it hasn't let up. Occasionally, I get dizzy and feel unsteady, which I suspect is linked to my spine issues. I’ve also struggled with constipation for a long time. Most frustratingly, I am perpetually exhausted. Even though I make sure to get enough sleep, I can barely move; my doctor actually sent me for thyroid testing, and it turns out my TSH is slightly elevated, so I’m currently waiting on a retest. It’s just... a lot.
Any help? Is anyone else feeling this level of total exhaustion? Any advice?
Stress might be playing a huge role. I’m working incredibly long hours every single month, and unfortunately, I’ve had to deal with two deaths in my life over the past year alone. How do you actually relax and recharge? I tried Pilates, but I didn't notice much improvement. Oh, and I almost forgot about my dermatitis—that flare-up has made an appearance again, too.
Hi there,
I had an allergic reaction, so my doctor told the nurse to give me two injections. The first one on my left side went in without any trouble, but when she did the right side, I felt a sharp sting. As soon as I tried to get up from the bed, the pain started intensifying. Within a few minutes, I couldn't even stand up straight; the pain radiated all the way from my hip down to my right heel. I actually tried to walk out, but after just a couple of steps, I felt incredibly weak, my vision went dark, and I thought I was going to pass out. They rushed me back immediately, and the doctor called 911. The paramedics laid me down and opened a window so I could get some air, and they gave me some IV fluids, which helped a little, but the pain wouldn't quit. It mostly just concentrated along the outer side of my leg. The doctor and the nurse kept insisting it couldn't be nerve damage because I'm not thin, claiming it was just a reaction to the medication. But if that were true, why was my left side perfectly fine?!
Once I got to the ER, the doctor didn't really take the nerve issue seriously either. She just handed me some antihistamines to take once a day for the next week and called it a day, topped off with a lovely little comment about how they can't exactly "fix" me now if they already hit a nerve. Real charming.
Has anyone else ever had a reaction like this after an injection? Or is it actually possible that they hit a nerve? How dangerous could this be, and what should my next move be? Should I be filing a formal complaint? Because honestly, I still can't walk normally today—it felt okay this morning, but the more I move around, the more the pain comes rushing back.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks a ton, I'll definitely check that out!
I could really use some gift-giving advice for my boyfriend. He’s one of those guys who is obsessed with anything smart, high-tech, or just plain practical. Please, no gag gifts, nothing sentimental like honey jars, and definitely no framed pictures.
He lives for multifunctional gear—think of a smartwatch that doubles as an iPhone charger or something along those lines. The massive hurdle I'm facing is that he pretty much already owns everything he actually wants. So, I'm feeling the pressure to find something cool, and I need ideas ASAP. I did a quick browse at the Apple Store, but honestly, everything there feels overpriced for what it is...
Are there any shops in New York City that carry unique little tech finds? Any gadget enthusiasts in here who can point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
