Anyone used the dental clinic at the university? Looking for reviews. in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
On a side note, if anyone happens to know a solid private dentist, I’d really appreciate any leads you could throw my way. 😁
I’ve never actually seen a dentist here in NYC; I always just head back home to see my regular guy. But right now, with finals coming up, I have no idea when I'll be able to make the trip home, and I honestly can't stand this toothache anymore. It's getting bad—my gums are swollen and I’m low-key terrified that things are going to take a turn for the worse. Anyway.
I'm torn between booking a private specialist (which would basically wipe out my entire bank account, including whatever savings I might have left in the future) or just heading to the dental clinic at the university. I was wondering if any fellow students have had experience working with the doctors there? If you have anyone specific to recommend, please let me know... The lady on the phone told me I could pick whoever I want.

Thanks.

Uh... does anyone out there in New York who has this on DivX or DVD happen to be able to rip a copy or sell me one?

I would be incredibly grateful. 😁

Storm can manipulate the weather, Xavier can move mountains with his mind... and honestly, looking at it from that perspective, I felt a little foolish myself...
But I guess they just needed an excuse to kill her off, just so they could bring her back in X2: X-Men United... Assuming they bring her back as Dark Phoenix...
Most people I know thought the ending sucked because Jean dies... But... well... once again... she didn't actually die... Maybe everyone just rushed out of the theater too fast to notice the Phoenix silhouette in the water at the bottom of Alkali Lake...

If you saw the first one and enjoyed it, then go for it. You can always grab a copy from the local video rental store to catch up before heading to the theater.
But if superheroes and that whole genre aren't your thing, then just skip it.

Look, I never claimed this was the greatest movie ever made. This film only works if you actually like superheroes—basically, if you’re an X-Men fan. Or if you can relate to the theme of being an outcast. Something like that.
There are plenty of people who think this movie is garbage, and unlike those Matrix fanatics 😉, that doesn't bother me at all. They’re entitled to their opinion. I’m not expecting X-Men to sweep the Oscars, not even for the special effects. There are much better visual effects in other movies out there.
The fact that I prefer X-Men over The Matrix is just my personal take. Hell, I think X-Men is way better than most action or sci-fi flicks. But I'm biased. And I’d never tell a The Matrix fan, "Go watch X-Men, The Matrix sucks." That's their business, their choice.

Since there are some rude people in this thread, you state your opinion and they immediately assume you're trying to force it on them. Tsk tsk tsk. Instead of actually trying to have an objective discussion. 😉
I get what you're saying more or less.
To me, > is just a little story > wrote for his kids, based on medieval fantasy—which honestly doesn't do much for me.
But look, there are billions of people who are absolutely obsessed with D&D, >, and all that stuff, so they think the movie is incredible, along with any other similar projects.
They just aren't being objective.
There's a dedicated thread just for X2. 😉

If you're big into 70s Kung Fu flicks and stuff like that, check out Kung Pow. And honestly, Shaolin Soccer isn't half bad either. But really, only if that's your kind of thing.

Back then, all the actors from the first film had already signed on for at least two sequels.
A third installment featuring Pyre and Phoenix as villains is practically guaranteed. ^^

By the way, Wolverine is absolutely incredible. My favorite part has to be when they visit Iceman's parents... "Art Professor, have you considered just not being a mutant and dropping your knives?" It's sick.

I honestly love how well they adapted the comic. It could easily spiral into total nonsense with six different subplots touching on ridiculous stuff like cosmic forces... Plus, the irony aimed at superheroes is just brilliant.
If you enjoyed the first one, you have to watch this...

The best superhero series ever.
And I mean that objectively. ^^

Me again.

Just watched X-Men for the second time.

Okay, Wolverine is the man. I absolutely love the idea of a guy who can crush a bow in three moves.
But honestly, I wish I were Famke Jensen. If I were her, I’d buy a massive mirror, strip down, and just spend hours admiring myself.

I'm heading off to watch X2 in about half an hour.

And regarding Famke, I totally get you. I don't think there's a single role of hers I haven't heard of. Even in that one with Michael Douglas where she just lies on the bed.
Um, lying on the bed... that's quite something.

Famke Jensen 🙏

Just finished watching Shanghai Knights.

Everyone has their weakness. Mine happens to be Jackie Chan.

Jackie Chan is the man.
I’d definitely recommend Shanghai Knights over Shanghai Noon; it's got some solid moments. Though, if you're strictly looking for a laugh, Johnny English is actually funnier.

Nice, so what’s the deal with the mini Matrix?
I’m actually thinking about checking it out. The first one was pretty solid—that scene where the girl catches the bus was such a vibe.

For those of you planning on catching X-Men 2, what are you all expecting?

I’ve been watching the trailers and doing some digging online, and honestly, I think I’m going to enjoy this one even more than the first film—and keep in mind, I’m a total X-Men geek.

Trailer2 is absolutely killer, especially that ending... 😁
