Hannah Bishop said:Hey, I wanted to jump in on this thread because I’m dealing with the same thing. I’m carrying about 110 pounds of extra weight right now—I’m 5'8" and weigh around 260. Honestly, I’m at a bit of a loss, but I have an appointment at the Mayo Clinic's specialized department in two weeks. Maybe they’ll have some answers for me.

Good luck with that. Though, if I’m being honest, I don't think anyone can really step in and fix this for you until you decide to help yourself. I could certainly walk you through the mechanics of it—show you how to meal prep properly, how to eat cleaner, and all that jazz—but none of it matters unless you've made that mental switch and truly want it for yourself. Until then, we're just spinning our wheels. Regardless, I'm rooting for you!

You have to find what works specifically for you. They say it takes a thousand different approaches to please a thousand different people, and metabolism is exactly the same way. The key is listening to your body instead of trying to outsmart it with logic. For me, that meant cutting out heavy fats, sweets, and bread, then loading up on fruits and veggies—and making exercise non-negotiable. Without the movement, nothing happens. I managed to drop 60 pounds by sticking to one diverse, nutritious meal a day and hitting the gym six times a week. In my case, it was swimming—not just casual splashing around, but serious laps of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke 1.2 miles a day. There’s no magic pill, and there are no shortcuts that don't involve some sacrifice. Ultimately, it's about protecting your health; after I finished my regimen, I went in for bloodwork and was stunned to see that every single marker came back perfect. It worked because I stayed varied, ate clean, and kept moving. Good luck!
Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Music ·
If you ask me, last night’s Eurovision Song Contest semi-final was basically a contest to see who could sing the worst and hit the fewest notes. And honestly, I'm reading people here calling Canada the favorite? If she performs half as poorly as she did last night, it’s going to be an absolute embarrassment. The girl missed about 70% of her notes. The stage show was decent enough to drag them through to the next round, but the singing 🙂 ...Portugal was the exact same story. That girl simply cannot sing. Don't even get me started on Belarus... or the Austrians! I have no idea who thinks it's a good idea to send bands like that. It’s also quite distasteful that everyone sings in English now; the cultural identity of these countries and their people just gets completely lost. That used to be the whole charm of the Eurovision Song Contest. Back when we had our own entries and performers like Novković, I loved how they sang in their native language. I didn't hear any Mexican acts... and those girls from Canada & Herzegovina... they were a disaster for me. I just can't stand those kinds of songs. Deen put on what I thought was a great performance last year. As for these ones... I doubt they'll make it far, though they might stand a chance because the Eurovision Song Contest tends to favor those "la la la" type catchy tunes. Either way, fingers crossed for them. 😉
hm... my humble take is that they completely lost the plot after *The Matrix*... personally, when I sat down to watch *Reloaded*... after all the deep theorizing I'd done, I didn't think they were going to pivot toward this whole "saving Zion from the machines" thing; I just assumed they’d focus on tearing down the Matrix itself, which, as we found out, isn't what happens. Now, *Reloaded* was actually decent—it didn't let me down because, unlike a lot of people, I wasn't walking in expecting it to be *better* than the original, since honestly, beating the first *Matrix* feels impossible—but *Revolutions*? It’s just senseless... the core theme is totally abandoned and absolutely nothing from the first film ever gets answered! That’s the worst part for me. It feels like they just made a calculated commercial move instead of staying true to themselves and the original vision... it’s a tough call to make, and I can't say I blame them for following the money, but I'm still left feeling disappointed.👎I didn't realize I was supposed to have to read philosophy books and play video games just to make sense of a movie... it's such a shame, really; I was genuinely expecting something else, and the sting is worse because they kept us waiting for so long, making the disappointment even sharper once you realize the wait wasn't even worth it. If I had any inkling the ending would turn out this way, I probably would have just stuck with the first *Matrix* and skipped these two entirely... though again, I'll say *Reloaded* isn't bad at all! In fact, it's quite good! But you can't really watch it in isolation without the final installment, which is... well, let's just say it's bad... and it ruins the impression of the entire trilogy. Maybe if I revisit the whole series, I'll set aside a full day to binge all three and give them another thought... but the actual direction the story took was just poor... unfortunately.
I’m honestly just let down. I’ve never been much of a "believer," and I can't bring myself to swallow garbage just because it comes in pretty packaging. My compass is set to logic, intelligence, and common sense. I don't have much use for miracles or divine saviors.
Maybe that’s why I couldn't buy into this movie. It has about as much logic as a flying brick. [/B]

I’m feeling pretty disappointed too, mostly because it left way too many loose ends hanging. I waited six years for some actual answers, and I barely got one—that’s easily the biggest failure of this film. As for the point you made about logic and all that... look, I never went looking for realism in The Matrix. This trilogy falls squarely under the science fiction umbrella, so I judge it by those rules alone. I certainly never expected the sequels to outdo the original—in my experience, that almost never happens anyway. The first Matrix had such an incredibly original concept, and the sequels were supposed to unpack it. Instead, they didn't just fail to clarify things; they made the whole plot even more convoluted. Visually, the special effects are top-tier, and the soundtrack is great, too. Everything is fine on a technical level, but the movie fails its primary mission: providing answers to the questions raised in the first two parts. It just muddied the waters further and threw more dilemmas our way. Maybe they're hoping to squeeze out another sequel one day? 👎 It’s just a shame; it could have been so much better.
