Tips for quitting smoking! in Health ·
Kevin White5 said:Well, the first day is officially in the books.🙂
The only real struggle was resisting the urge to light up while having my coffee. Other than that, everything was smooth sailing.
My apartment smells great, my breath is fresh, my teeth are white—honestly, I’m feeling pretty damn good about myself right now.
I’m still checking in!

coppercrane89, whenever you're ready, you'll get there. Just gather your courage and follow in our footsteps. We have to look out for one another.
😁

🙂 🙂 🙂

The worst is yet to come! And here is my forecast. NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, I know firsthand that quitting smoking is an uphill battle. It’s incredibly tough. But don't lose sight of one thing: if you actually want to quit, it all comes down to you and your own grit. No one else can pull you through; nobody can help you more than you can help yourself. I’ve seen people try everything—acupuncture, hypnosis, nicotine patches, you name it. In my experience, those things only work if the person has the iron will to back them up, and honestly, those people are rare. For me personally, two years ago, I just said "no more." image AND THAT’S WHERE I STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍 👍 👍

It’s been a long time now, too. But I still haven't lit up once.👍 👍

I always struggle with the identity crisis, though—I don't feel like a "smoker" because a single pack can last me days (maybe four at most), and sometimes I’ll burn through the whole thing in just one night depending on how the situation plays out. There are stretches where I won't even light up for three days, but then I end up at some stupid coffee meetup and find myself lighting up again...
Anyway, maybe I'll join the non-smokers club soon. To everyone else out there holding the line—my advice is simple: keep doing exactly what you're doing. You can do this!

Quitting? It takes willpower. Real character. I just said "no," and that was that. It's been two years now. Good luck!

It’s a brutal disease, and the fallout is just as devastating... everything about this struggle is heavy.

Casey Palmer5 said:Anorexia. Or maybe anorexia.

Psychological, sure...

It’s a brutal illness, and unfortunately, far too common.

Either spelling works; I assume that's how you'd write it here in the States.

Is this even possible???
I spent two hours glued to the TV watching this documentary about a seventeen-year-old girl from London struggling with Anorexia. I honestly can't wrap my head around the fact that something like this actually happens—that such a beautiful girl could just... die from starvation. It’s absolutely horrifying.

Is it some kind of mental breakdown????

They say smoking is twenty times more addictive than drugs—is that actually true?
As for me, I’ve never touched anything else that came my way. Not even close.
How was the coughing? Well, about nine months ago, I just looked at myself and said, "Get rid of this crap, you don't need it." I tossed them, and that was it. DONE. Not a single one since. I had my moments of struggle, sure, but I had the guts to just say no. That's how you all need to handle it! 👍 👍 👍
