Tips for quitting smoking!
in Health ·
Twenty-two years of smoking under my belt. I tried quitting a few times—longest stretch was about 8 months. Even then, after 6 months, I’d wake up in a cold sweat because I dreamed a cigarette was burning my hand. For the last 3 or 4 years, I was on heavy tobacco—that strong stuff, like 60 rolls a day. Driving was the worst part; just chain-smoking one after another. About 2 months ago, I was on a 6-hour road trip and went overboard. That night, I was coughing until I threw up. The next morning? Coffee, followed by coughing fits so hard I was gagging, throwing up, washing my face, looking at my bloodshot eyes in the mirror, and wondering if this life was actually worth it. So, I gave all my tobacco and rolling papers away, and I haven't touched a cigarette since. Nobody believes me when I say I don't miss it or deal with cravings, but honestly, it's true.
