Hey everyone...
I could really use some help here—it’s kind of urgent...
Hi there,
Does anyone here know how to make sense of an X-ray report for a urinary tract? It says: "On the plain urinary tract film, the shadows of both kidneys are appropriately positioned, though their outlines are poorly defined. No stones were detected. Severe left-sided scoliosis of the lumbar spine is visible."
Thanks, and all the best!

Why did they bother running the HLA typing in the first place?
I'm sorry I didn't mention this earlier... Basically, given all those tests—you know, the stuff regarding my lymph nodes, blood work, the fever, hypogammaglobulinemia, and that inflammatory rheumatic disease with the X-ray showing sacroiliitis... my primary care doctor ordered the typing. But nobody actually explained what it meant. I just got the results back, and since my GP doesn't really know how to interpret them, 😢 I was hoping you might be able to help me out...
Thanks so much!
Talk soon, 🙂
Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me make sense of these tissue typing results—specifically regarding antigen determination...
This is for an 18-year-old. PLEASE, this is quite urgent!
Thanks so much, and best regards!
p.s. I'll be using this symbol : / to separate the boxes... So, the first number is from the first box, and the number after the / is from the second box.
RESULTS:
HLA phenotype:
HLA-A LOCUS ( VALUES: 9/25 );
HLA-B LOCUS ( VALUES: 18/61);
HLA-DR LOCUS ( VALUES: 11/ND);
HLA-DQ LOCUS ( VALUES: 3/ND);
DR 51;52;53 ( VALUES: 52/ND);
HLA-Cw LOCUS ( NT/NT);
Bw4👋6 (NT/NT);
DNA: DRB1* LOCUS (NT/NT);
NT = not typed
ND = not defined
Again, thank you all so much!
Sincerely, 🙂

Thanks so much, and best regards to you all!
p.s. To keep things clear between the fields, I'll use this symbol: /...So, the first number is what's in the first field, and the number after the / belongs to the second field.

Again, thank you so much!
With great respect,
Thanks a ton! You really helped me out here... I’ve wrapped up this first stage of processing, and now all that's left is the Infectious Disease clinic—basically getting through this whole mountain of testing... Oh, and unfortunately, the autoimmune stuff has already kicked in for me 😢 manifesting as rheumatoid arthritis... Thanks again for all the intel 🙂
Best regards,
Hi there,
Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly... Along with this report, I also got results showing low immunoglobulin A—my doctor mentioned it might be IgA hypogammaglobulinemia . Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what that actually entails... I probably need to head over to the Mayo Clinic for some more testing, specifically because of this suspicion of an underlying infection—even though this whole situation hasn't changed for me in over three years now 😢... Do you have any advice on a full panel of tests I should ask for (like EBV, CMV, toxoplasmosis...?)
?
Thanks a million
I was wondering if anyone could take a look at these results and tell me what you think... I've been dealing with bilateral sacroiliitis and for the last three years, I've had these enlarged (reactive) lymph nodes... I'm 18 years old. I honestly have NO CLUE what anything under "morphological analysis" actually means, so I'm asking for some clarification... Thank you so much!
Here are the results—I'll type everything out for you:
REFERRING DIAGNOSIS: Lymphadenitis
SAMPLE TYPE: peripheral blood smear cytological analysis
CYTOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION:
DLC % :
UNSEGMENTED GRANULOCYTES 3 LYMPHOCYTES 14
SEGMENTED NEUTROPHILS 80 MONOCYTES 3
EOSINOPHILIC GRANULOCYTES 0
BASOPHILIC GRANULOCYTES 0
MORPHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS:
ERYTHROCYTES: MILD ( TO MODERATE) ANISOPOIKILOCYTOSIS
GRANULOCYTES: HYPERGRANULAR (+/++)
LYMPHOCYTES:
PLATELETS: POLYMORPHIC +
😕
Does anyone actually know what it means when my 24-hour urine volume comes back high? The standard range is usually between 600 and 1600 mL, but mine clocked in at 1980...
Thanks
