...honestly, even just a little something would be perfect. It’d feel pretty awkward to show up empty-handed, wouldn't it? If I were you, I might try picking your brother's brain about it—since they're buddies, he probably knows exactly what kind of music he's into lately. Maybe some tickets to a movie he's dying to see or a game? Anyway, honestly, even a tiny gesture goes a long way because it shows you actually put in the effort to figure out what he likes. To me, that kind of thoughtfulness means way more than someone just grabbing something random just to say they did. I think he'd really remember that.🙂
Am I too materialistic? in Psychology ·
...I mean, maybe it’s just because you actually have control over the stuff you own. You can't really pull the strings on people like that, and when that balance slips, everything just feels off. Personally, I've always felt that material things aren't even that deep—at the end of the day, we're all leaving this world empty-handed anyway...
Is honesty always a virtue? in Psychology ·
Nicholas Gonzalez8 said:I’m a brutally honest person—sometimes to a fault, really. And honestly? I don't even worry about how it affects me; my real anxiety comes from the thought of hurting someone else with the truth. Like, let's say you stumble upon something, or you realize something, or you do something that you know a close friend or family member would absolutely hate to hear. In those messy moments, is it actually worth being blunt? Is it better to drip-feed them the truth bit by bit, or should you just let the whole thing blow up naturally when it's bound to happen anyway?

How much of a straight-shooter are you guys, and how do people usually react when you lay it all out there?

...I guess I’m way too honest for my own good, and most of the time, it totally backfires on me. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to be any other way, and whatever happens, I’ll probably stay this way... I just expect the people close to me to be just as open and straight with me.
...to me, it feels kind of gross knowing something and keeping it from someone I care about, especially when I know it’s going to hurt them sooner or later. The reality is they’re gonna get hurt regardless, but I figure it’s better they hear it from me first rather than finding out later and feeling like a fool.
