Brain aneurysm: What are your experiences? in Health ·
Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because I really need some guidance. My mother had an aneurysm rupture five days ago; she underwent surgery, but her condition seems to be deteriorating. She can't keep any food down and the pain is causing constant vomiting. It's heartbreaking to watch her suffer through this much misery. According to the doctors, everything looks fine on paper—she should physically be able to swallow and speak—but the excruciating pain makes it impossible for her to do anything. The medical team is administering the maximum amount of pain management allowed, but clearly, it isn't enough. Does anyone have experience with this? How can I help ease her suffering? Would it be worth trying to blend something soft, like mashed potatoes with peas or maybe a banana, just so she gets some nutrition? Or perhaps there's a specific type of pillow or something else that might provide more comfort? It's incredibly difficult to see her like this. On top of everything, the surgical hematoma is swelling, and we aren't sure how that will resolve. If you've navigated a similar recovery period, could you please share your advice or tell me how things turned out for you? Thank you all in advance.
