It’s honestly pretty wild to see how the Democratic Party has gone from being a major political force and a legitimate alternative to feeling more like a disorganized bunch of amateurs. I mean, maybe Bernardić isn't necessarily a bad guy himself, but when you look at the people backing him, there's just such a massive lack of talent and drive. It feels like a total void of competence and ambition. Personally, I think I'd much rather have someone leading the country who actually shows some real initiative.

It’s kind of wild how people are trying to score political points using Walmart, though I guess it's even more surprising that loudmouths like Maras are making such a fuss about it. Hopefully, the Republican Party will clear them out during the elections.

Herjavec is probably the least wealthy among them, which might be why they brush him off, especially since Cuban is still the most attractive option on average...

Still, as an investment platform, it's pretty impressive. I believe they've surpassed $100 million in investments and created about 10,000 jobs...

Totally, it makes your head spin seeing the kinds of products they handle over there. The market is huge, and even with the struggling folks, there's plenty of middle class and wealthy people. Here in America, it feels like everything revolves around tourism, bakeries, used car lots, debt collection, and cheap goods of every kind...🤣

Everything has gone in and out of style before—back then it was Tamagotchis or ripped jeans, but today it's apps. Someone who sold junk yesterday can just sell digital junk today. Even here, companies are trying to sell smart umbrellas and high-tech benches. If they're actually that smart, I guess you'd wonder why you can't just have a conversation with them.

Kyle Lopez2 said:It depends. If life has taught me anything, it’s that nothing is ever purely black or white. Take that famous case in New York where a guy died during an asthma attack while being detained by the police. The whole story was that he was selling cigarettes illegally, and when the officer tried to take him in, he pushed back and tried to walk away. Reinforcements showed up, things got physical, they were shoving him down, and in a tragic turn of events, he passed away.

Look, it's a fact that police overstep their bounds and that courts can be corrupt, but in many of these viral internet stories, you also have people doing everything in their power to provoke a confrontation with the police.

So honestly, these days I find it hard to tell what the truth really is. Half of these things turn out to be media hoaxes, and once you dig a little deeper, you realize the "average Joe" isn't always as innocent as he seems... ☕

I agree that it’s not black and white, but from the short clip, there doesn't seem to be any real need for such violent measures. Flying is one of the most expensive ways to travel, and I guess even economy passengers deserve a basic level of respect. After all, they are customers who paid for their tickets and have lives that might depend on making that specific flight. Unless there’s a legal reason to remove someone—like disturbing the peace or terrorism—you shouldn't just kick someone off a plane, even if they refuse to leave. There just wasn't a reason to tell him to get out.

Those American companies can be pretty aggressive with their rules and procedures sometimes. I guess I was almost screwed over once during a long flight in Atlanta, and I haven't seen that kind of lack of professionalism anywhere else.

Well, I guess you could say the plane was actually packed with them. Instead of protecting the man from being humiliated, they all just filmed it on their phones.

I guess the Democratic Party just isn't doing much these days. It feels like they’re driven purely by political agendas rather than having any real connection to the economy. I mean, which major American business leader is actually backing them? Even someone like Tedeschi, who is close with Milanovic, doesn't seem interested in giving them his support. Most of these folks haven't really accomplished much and don't seem to have the drive or the expertise to make big moves. Whether they are moral or not is one thing, but results are what truly matter. If you spend four years in power and can't move the needle on GDP, maybe it’s time to pack it up. The damage they cause is honestly comparable to wartime conditions. Plus, they didn't even mention emigration or demographic shifts during the whole campaign. You can't really expect people to fix problems if they don't even recognize that those problems exist. Maybe the Democratic Party can survive if they manage to recruit a younger crowd focused on growth; otherwise, they won't stay relevant enough to lead the country. From what I see, the people in their ranks are mostly 35-year-olds on Facebook talking constantly about old partisan politics and Bozo Petrov. Honestly, I can't bring myself to vote for people like that. There are other options out there, and groups like the Bridge Party and Living Wall have already taken tens of thousands of their votes. In the future, that number will likely grow, and eventually, the Republican Party might take even more.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
James Anderson5 said:Exactly. You’ve pretty much captured the whole essence of the Bridge Party right there—all that posturing about changing the country, only for their main contribution to be settling some minor dispute over license plates while they simultaneously push through legislation for Walmart. It’s the same story with the Department of Justice; he hasn't even touched the real issues. For instance, this is a country where grandmas get penalized for not using crosswalks, yet major criminals face zero consequences. Look at how someone like Horvatinčić could hurt so many people with all sorts of weapons and still walk free, let alone continue driving. That’s clearly an issue for the justice system, but also for the pressure the police should be applying...

People have a vision for fixing a few objectively trivial things to keep the government running, but when it comes to the truly important matters, they lack both the vision and the capacity. They make big declarations, but they don't have the actual will to act. In my opinion, if they actually had the drive and the expertise, they should have taken the Prime Minister position when Milanovic offered it and actually fixed something, or just broken up that Coalition if they were being obstructed...

But yeah, I suppose having the Bridge Party and the Republican Party in power is better than just the Republican Party alone, though I fear it might all end badly regardless...

I don't really see where Milanovic fits into that equation. The Democratic Party isn't offering anything—neither changes nor solutions to problems. If they were involved, maybe the Bridge Party would struggle, but the Democratic Party is a party without perspective or any real power; even the Liberal Party managed to completely derail them within a year. The Liberal Party wasn't even a factor a year ago. I guess you can just forget about Milanovic and the Democratic Party; that chapter seems closed.

restlesssurfer97 said:I think the guy with the mustache is actually pretty charming and charismatic, honestly, I feel like they should be betting on him because he really seems to have what it takes to be a high-quality leader.

If Petrov had gone along with Milanovic, Karamarko would have been totally finished, and I mean like a year before it even happened.

To me, Petrov and Grmoja just seem like exactly who they are—a psychiatrist and a teacher who are basically just lost in the middle of everything else, especially Grmoja.

It’s unlikely Petrov would go with Milanovic. Back then, it might have sounded like the perfect combo to take down Karamarkov's Republican Party, but the Democratic Party and the Bridge Party really don't share much common ground. A bunch of the less prominent Bridge Party folks come from circles that are polar opposites to the Democrats, and honestly, the Democratic Party ended up feeling like a party for nothing. I know some members who even head up certain small municipalities, and it's wild what kind of characters they are. The Democratic Party feels like it's ready to just fade away.

I guess he actually settled that whole silly debate about the new license plates quite simply, and he also opened three more locations in Washington, D.C. where you can pick up documents. Anyone who’s had to wait in line on Heinzelov probably thinks this might be a pretty good move.

restlesssurfer97 said:I’d say they basically just kept Karamarko in that position for another year, if you ask me.

I wouldn't quite put it that way. If it weren't for that coalition with the Bridge Party, that badger might still be running the whole country today.

And they haven't even handled the basic, common-sense stuff, like getting rid of those outdated red tape requirements, so you'd think they'd at least tackle the small, obvious things just to show they're working, but nothing.

Well, I suppose Dobrović is actually a top expert in his field here in the States, but it's hard to focus on organizing waste collection and recycling when people like the Bandis are running the cities. Orepić also seems like a pretty practical guy, I guess.

Keith Miller30 said:Yes, matches like that always fascinate me—those instances where it feels as though the ball just won't find its way into the goal, no matter how hard they try, even if they kept playing until the day after tomorrow. He put it perfectly, almost as if the universe itself had conspired against them. 😁

You know that feeling when FC Barcelona creates twenty clear chances, hits the woodwork multiple times, and the keeper makes nine miraculous stops? Those kinds of games really tend to happen when Valencia CF faces off against Real Madrid or Barca, and someone like Diego Alves just happens to be having the game of his life.

I remember watching Ajax-Den Haag maybe eleven or twelve years ago, and the memory still sticks with me; the goalkeeper made about twenty saves, Ajax hit the post two or three times, and they had several unbelievable misses, but sometimes, when things just aren't meant to go your way, you simply can't force it. 😁

Honestly, man, I really let myself hope that we finally, actually, finally landed a legitimate third option in this whole mess. Now I'm just sitting here wondering if they're all just completely incompetent or if they're just master manipulators playing us, and honestly, I can't even tell which of those two options above is more likely to be true.

There are some decent groups here, but they just don't have any real influence. I suppose having good ideas and integrity is fine, but it doesn't amount to much if you aren't in power, right?

Walter Grant5 said:I’ll never get it. There’s zero substance here, yet somehow this has been the biggest thing everyone in America has talked about for the last five days.

What kills me is how everyone is suddenly playing the sympathy card for the parents. If this guy had taken out two other people instead, they’d be busy pinning all the blame on them.

To be honest, neither I nor anyone I know has really commented on this. I don't follow those kinds of news stories, so I didn't even realize anything had happened. I've seen enough people in my life to know there are all sorts out there, so these things don't really shock me. I suppose the people who could do the most to prevent a tragedy like this are the ones closest to the perpetrator. It doesn't just happen that someone wakes up one morning, looks out the window, and decides, "Okay, I'm going to kill someone." It doesn't work like that; it's usually the culmination of something building up for a long time. It's kind of like those incidents in the US where people target schools or movie theaters. Afterward, everyone acts surprised, saying, "No one would ever imagine that," when the guy has likely spent months holed up in his room, gathering guns and ammo—maybe just for hunting something small... 🙄

Actually, it's the exact same story for Sunjerga regarding the police report here:

---
"He confessed to what he did. He had his own motives, but that's more a matter for the defense at this point. He seems like just an ordinary, average guy to me, and his motives and reasons... they're hard to understand," said Baica.
---

Well, I don't think so. Maybe we should just call it what it really is.
Jack Reacher: Never Back Down (2016) in Movies ·
Betty Nelson71 said:It was a great movie; the two hours just flew by. I think they did a nice job integrating the younger character into the plot. And honestly, Thomas still knows how to deliver some solid action scenes.
The only thing that felt a bit off to me was how he travels around hitchhiking with nothing but a jacket and no bag.
Maybe the book explains why he doesn't bother with a car.

Jack Reacher... I mean, Tom Cruise is a beast. When he walks into a room, everything just stops, and all you hear is people whispering, "Oh my God, that's Jack Reacher." Besides, I've never seen a tiger walking through the woods carrying a suitcase or driving a sedan. I guess those questions might be a little silly.
Kenneth Clark18 said:Who would you pick to take the penalty? I guess there's already enough negativity on the news sites.

Personally, I think I could have done better—I’d probably just give it a solid kick.

Man, even legends like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Roberto Baggio miss penalties in the final minute sometimes. It's like how anyone can miss a deciding free throw in basketball. This time, Horvat missed his shot too. It’s such a high-pressure moment at the end of an exhausting game, right in front of a packed arena with everything on the line. There are really only two outcomes. Plus, we should maybe give the goalie some credit for making the save.
