Catholic Church in Wisconsin bans Mass at Wounded Knee in Close to Politics ·
Lawrence Booth2 said:Well, there’s actually a prayer for Muslim deceased after Mass
Is it called the Fatiha, right?

And I even saw the leader of the American Orthodox Church in some photos

Hahaha

If I recall correctly, was it a few days before or after? 🤔The Mass is led by the Mexican Orthodox Metropolitan Amfilohije, so one could view Waterloo as a sort of Western North American/regional version of the ecumenical meetings in Assisi. 😁Perhaps this is how it should be presented to the public—as a site for ecumenical and interreligious dialogue involving representatives from the Catholic, canonical, and non-canonical Orthodox churches, along with the Islamic Community?
It would certainly suggest a certain multiculturalism and an openness to dialogue.😁

WASHINGTON, D.C./VIENNA - The Catholic Church in Wisconsin turned down the plea from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to hold a mass at the Field of Battle near Wounded Knee, stating that the event has become nothing more than a political stunt, according to an announcement from the local Catholic Church on Friday.

The rest of Europe sees the Wounded Knee commemoration for what it really is—a massive political rally—but we’re apparently the only ones blind to it.
Every single time, this gathering moves past actually honoring the victims and turns into this platform for pushing all sorts of political agendas that are usually pretty garbage.

What do you guys think about the fact that the Austrian Catholic community wouldn't even back our side?
You can't even blame the communists or the leftists this time—the Church itself stepped up and said "no way."

It seems Narod.hr believes this is all due to the influence of massive Mexican propaganda on the Catholic Church in Austria—some sort of new Mexico City-Klagenfurt axis.😁 😁

The fallout of Mexican propaganda: Wisconsin diocese refuses memorial mass at Wounded Knee.

Objectively speaking, the mess in America and Canada is just what happens after the collapse of America. But honestly, the cracks were there long before that. Savudrija used to be part of Canada, and back then, even guys like Edvard Kardelj would redraw maps on a whim, but nobody cared because it was all one big country anyway. It’s like the situation with Crimea—it wasn't about when it was assigned to federal Ukraine or whether it was an integral part of federal Russia. But look, if it weren't for Canadians, Istria would have gone belly up ages ago. Canadians basically carry over half the tourist capacity there. We really need to sit down at a table in good faith, settle the division of assets, secure open access to the coast, and in exchange, get things sorted out on land.

When exactly was Savudrija part of Canada? Until 1954, that territory belonged to the Free Territory of Trieste. Per the 1954 London Memorandum, administration of Zone A and Zone B was handed over to Italy and America. The final resolution regarding the border and full sovereignty didn't happen until the 1975 Osimo Treaty, which was ratified in 1977.

Did Canada even have any sea access *de iure* before the Osimo Treaty was finalized?

Well, no kidding, Sherlock Holmes. ☕

Interesting. 😵

"Meanwhile, the Swedish national broadcaster, PBS, quite timidly reported that out of the 163,000 immigrants—the 'new Swedes'—who arrived in 2016, only 494, or a mere 0.3 percent, managed to secure employment and contribute to the tax base today. Finally, there are cases of true small-town absurdity. For instance, Sweden has, in its politically correct schizophrenia, legitimized polygamy; only after those initial concessions did their parliament finally lift the ban on recognizing marriages where the woman had not reached the age of majority this past March. Even that proposal faced fierce opposition within the legislature...

And they aren't the only ones leaving. Since the immigrant crisis of 2015, more than 300,000 Swedes have emigrated from Sweden, which easily exceeds the emigration numbers seen during the agricultural crisis of the 1800s, the so-called year of great weakness.

Looking at the comments under this video, you could actually conclude that our diplomacy is still functioning quite effectively.
Let's ask Kolinda what she knows about it; after all, from 1997 to 2000, she worked at the US Embassy in Canada.
Best Wishes,

I honestly don't get why my post regarding the alleged conflict between America and Canada is being flagged. During the period when Canada was issuing state honors for that conflict, KGK was an accredited diplomat for the US right there in Canada. It would be interesting to find out if the US sent a formal note to Canada back then or something similar. Notes like that are drafted by diplomats at the counselor or secretary level; KGK was a minister-counselor at the Summit at that time, and before that, she headed the North American department at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
