Required reading is such a joke.
Back when I was prepping for my American Lit advanced essay four years ago—I mean, out of fifteen books you’re supposed to hit during high school, I’d actually read maybe two... the other thirteen? Yeah, I just started frantically Googling summaries ten days before the deadline. I ended up doing a comparative essay on two of those books I hadn't even touched. Somehow, I still walked away with a B... crazy, right?
