This covers all those logical failures—you know, things like accidentally deleted files, formatted drives, data wiped out by some nasty malware, or even just a totally corrupted operating system and stuff like that.

Thanks so much!! 👍

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend installing anything else on that drive right now, either—every new bit of data you add just makes the chances of a successful recovery even slimmer. It's a bit of a delicate situation, I guess.

It’s all installed... everything looks exactly like it did before, I guess. 🙄

Andrew Peterson2 said:I honestly wouldn't even touch Windows. Every single time you shut down or boot up, it's constantly busy recording all this background data just to try and speed things up later. It’s a bit much, I guess.

I was using... 😢

Andrew Peterson2 said:Look, if you’re dealing with data that actually matters—like, life-or-death or career-defining stuff—my honest advice is to just stop. Don't touch anything. Seriously, don't even try to fiddle with it yourself. You should probably just call in the pros and let an expert handle it before things get messy. If you really need to kill the power right now, I guess the safest bet is to just force a hard shutdown. Just hold down that power button for about three seconds until it goes black. It sounds a bit aggressive, I know, but it's basically just to prevent Windows from trying to write any more junk to the drive while it's shutting down normally. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

They’re actually pretty huge to me... honestly, just one really priceless memory.
I mean, I guess it might already be too late at this point. I've been using this laptop for a few days now, and honestly, I’ve already gone through the whole hassle of getting all my programs installed and set up exactly how I like them. So, yeah... maybe the window of opportunity has passed.

Drew Ramos77 said:It exists, I suppose, but honestly, it all comes down to how much that file is actually worth to you—in US Dollars, that is. You're probably better off just tackling it yourself; I don't think doing it here is going to get you anywhere.

I really value her, you know? But trying to put a price tag on it in US Dollars... man, I don't even know where to start. It's hard to say.
DIY isn't going to cut it here, no... I’m serious, I honestly don't even know who to turn to anymore. I’ve already picked the brains of a few people in the tech industry, but even they're just scratching their heads. 😢

I’m looking for some help, advice, or honestly just any ideas at all...

So, I did a fresh install of Windows on my laptop—basically wiped everything and started from scratch—but then I realized I made a massive mistake. I completely forgot to back up one super important file before the wipe...

Is there even a remote chance that someone could somehow get it back at this point? 😢

Our lawyer filed the initial claim, we got an offer, and we turned it down. We pushed for more, they bumped up the number, we accepted, and that was that.

In any case, they almost always start with a lowball offer. Filing an appeal to push for a higher amount is standard practice, though I can't speak to specific dollar amounts or percentages since I'm not an expert in those details.

So, basically, there's no downside to filing an appeal, right?
Since I'll be handling the appeal myself, do I actually need to cite specific clauses or pull out those percentage charts I saw online...? I know exactly where they shortchanged me, so I'm hoping I can just lay it all out clearly and explain my side. 😉

Sorry if I'm double-posting here, but I couldn't find a thread quite like this one...

So, we finally got a decision regarding the settlement amount for a recent injury (a broken arm). Honestly? It’s nowhere near what our lawyer calculated—not even close. We were looking at things like how long the cast had to be worn, the fact that they couldn't work, all those little complications that add up...
We reached out to State Farm, and they basically told us to just file a formal appeal. Now, I’m sitting here wondering: is it actually worth it to spend months fighting them on this? Like, is there any real chance an appeal will actually move the needle for us?

Has anyone here gone through something similar?
And really, is there anything to lose by sending in the appeal?
Lately, I’ve been noticing my urine turns pretty dark every once in a while, usually right after I’ve pushed myself through some heavy physical exertion. I went ahead and got some urine and blood work done just to be safe, and honestly, everything looks fine—even my urine culture came back sterile. My CBC panel is okay, and my ALT, AST, Bilirubin, and Urea are all within the normal range. But, looking at the urinalysis, I have positive Urobilinogen (which is supposed to be negative) and about 5-15 erythrocytes (when it should really be 0-2). Those erythrocytes are also marked as two pluses.

Just to add some context, I get these sharp pains occasionally during my "crises," and I was on antibiotics recently (though I’m not entirely sure if there's a connection there). Also, I've been putting myself through much more intense physical training lately.

Does anyone have any idea why just these specific markers are elevated when everything else seems perfectly normal?
Why on earth does it take almost a whole week to get urine culture results back? 😢

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a pediatric dentist?

Maybe try looking into George Washington, but honestly, make sure you ask about the price first (get them to commit to it!) because it can get pretty pricey.
Whatever you do, stay far away from Jordan (they share an office with Taylor Swift)!! It’s insanely expensive, and frankly, the quality just isn't there. I know a few people who ended up having to go back to other dentists to fix stuff like fillings and crowns...
