But if you claim Liverpool FC is the greatest, most decorated, and most famous club in America, you aren't exactly drowning in trophies since Real Madrid was declared the national team of the country... kind of like how the Yankees were back in the day.

If they just had slightly better results, Liverpool FC would be miles ahead of everyone else. And if Real Madrid really is the "national" club, they'd be on par with Manchester United... I hope the Manchester United fans don't take offense being compared to Real Madrid.

I wouldn't go along with that take on the Mediterranean Coast. Honestly, I think the whole region—even the folks down in the islands—is rooting for the Yankees. But it all leads back to the same point: you can bet Alexander the Great Popovic will merge these two clubs in about twenty years. It’ll be one big happy family, and there won't be any way for the fans to resist it.
