So you're telling me I shouldn't even bother with this used junk and just grab a Radeon RX 560 instead?
There are tons of $333 options out there for that card, though you can probably haggle a bit, but man, there are so many different versions of the Radeon RX 560 and the prices jump around by like 20-$10 bucks. Is it actually worth getting this one from $346 with the 2GB ( or maybe this one ( or am I just overthinking this whole thing and should just pick the cheapest 1GB model ( I really don't want to screw myself over because the price gap isn't huge, and once I drop the cash, there's no turning back.

I've got a chance to snag an HD 7770 that's basically brand new—hasn't even been running for more than 10 hours—for just $267 ( https://www.google.com/search?q=xfx+r...up%3B800%3B600). Or, should I just bite the bullet and grab a brand new r7 260x OC ( http://www.bestbuy.com/detalji_proizvo...22-05-20g.aspx) which is gonna run me $43 more.
What do you think is the smarter move here?

I think I've made up my mind, 😁 I’m sticking with this new class. At the end of the day, it's my life and my future on the line. I’d much rather be messing around with computers than out there running pipes in someone's house. Plus, social life. What's the big deal? I can still hang with my crew after school, chill, and take breaks. The new class was cool enough when they welcomed me, but honestly, I'm not feeling the vibe of the group itself, but whatever, it is what it is 🙂. I only have two years left in high school—one full year, then next year I'm doing an internship twice a week 😁D, and besides, I haven't even given them a chance to get to know me yet; it's only been a week. I'll probably click with someone over the next year and a half or so.

Studying isn't even something I worry about; I've managed to pass without any real trouble every single time. I don't actually hit the books that much, but the info just sticks 😁. Freshman year of high school, I barely touched two books, yet I passed with a B (math was a struggle because I messed around too much), and everything else was an A or a B. I rarely study from textbooks or the stuff everyone else wants to read. When I'm online reading about computers, I'm looking at troubleshooting and how to solve specific problems, which gave me a massive head start for this major (school). Unlike everyone else who supposedly has all this knowledge already. THEY GO TO SCHOOL TO LEARN, NOT BECAUSE THEY ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING, RIGHT? So yeah, I'm not sweating it.

It’s not like a massive crisis or anything, but still.
So, I’m in high school—a pretty solid one, too. I'm a sophomore now. Last year I was on the electrical track, but this year I switched over to electronics/computer science.
Freshman year was awesome—just a huge group of friends constantly joking around and having a blast—but I realized I actually dig computers more, so I made the jump. The issue is, I was so dialed in with my old crew last year, just messing around with everyone, cracking jokes with the teachers... we all had a laugh. But this new crowd? It’s just not hitting the same. In this "new class," the cliques have already formed, and since I'm the new guy, I'm kind of an outsider. It’s not like they’re being jerks or bullying me or anything; they’ve actually been pretty chill. We talk here and there, but I don't feel like we're ever gonna be actual friends like the guys I met in the electrical program. My old buddies are telling me to just go back to what I had. I honestly like both paths, though I lean a bit more toward the computer stuff. During breaks, I just go find my old crew to hang out, then I spend my classes sitting by myself.
What should I pick?? The social life or the career path??

I've got some ancient GPU lying around, should do the trick.

The total is around $400--$900 (didn't do the math exactly) which means I won't have enough left for a decent GPU, so I'm thinking about just picking up a better card later on. Better than blowing all my cash right now on something that's gonna suck.

Don't want to clutter things up with a whole new thread, so I'll just jump in here 🙂. I'm thinking about dropping about $1000 on a case, but since I've never actually built a PC myself, I'd probably just buy a pre-built.
