Forgiveness in Spirituality ·
electricstag16 said:Exactly. You take a life, then you just give yourself some easy grace and suddenly everything is fine.
Honestly, you spiritualists seem to revolve entirely around "me, me, and more me."
And then you have the nerve to claim that the "self" doesn't even exist.
I wonder (rhetorically), can you actually find it in yourselves to forgive your own stupidity?

Look, you gotta realize people change. Life isn't black and white; everything is shades of gray. I’ve seen this firsthand with someone in my own family. They spent basically their whole life making terrible mistakes—hurting people left and right. From the outside, looking at all the pain they caused, you'd think, "Yeah, this person deserves nothing but eternal damnation." But now, this person is elderly and nearing the end, and after one of our many arguments, they broke down crying and told me, "Please forgive me. You know better than anyone that nobody ever said a kind word to me growing up. You know I was raised by nothing but losers and drunks, with no father or mother to guide me." Then they added, and I mean literally these words: "Son, please, once I'm gone, just come to my grave. You don't need flowers or candles. Just come by, spit on my grave, and say, 'Old man, you were trash and you stayed trash.' Just show up once, and then you never have to come back."

So, don't be so quick to judge or tear people down. There are so many lonely, broken souls out there who never felt a shred of love or kindness. They never learned how to be good because they were never shown. There are plenty of people society has cast aside as total garbage, when maybe they just never had a fair shot at being better...
