I’m thinking about bringing my husband on as a temporary employee at my small business for a month or two. It's really just a formality so our kid doesn't get kicked out of daycare—we basically just need a pay stub 😢 to show he's employed.
Honestly, I have zero clue where to even start. Do I just sign an employment contract with him, register him for Social Security and Medicare, and then deal with the payroll tax filings at the end of the month? What other paperwork am I looking at? Payroll runs, reports, etc.? Is there anything else I should be worried about? My business isn't set up for sales tax; I just file as a sole proprietor under the standard tax code, so any help or advice regarding the admin side would be a lifesaver 😵
