Witches Online: Pirate Edition in Spirituality ·
I'll bite... once you explain what qualifies as a "real" witch.

The kind that flies on broomsticks instead of relying on motorized vehicles.

I suppose I should start pitching the broomstick as a premier Green Party transportation option.🙂

Someone please explain the logic to me: why do witches—and I am talking about the real deal here—always congregate at the crossroads where two paths meet?

P.S. Are Baf and Alexander Parker69 lurking in this thread?

I'm going to ramble for a moment. I want to pose a question to this group: what is the ultimate endgame for your spiritual practice? What is it you're actually trying to achieve, and what does your path look like when all the noise dies down?😁

Look, please don't bring a whole circus of nonsense into this thread, though I suspect you might anyway.😠

One of the "achievements" of Maharishi's leadership is ensuring every Westerner finds themselves a personal guru. The price? Handing over 10% of your monthly income as a fee for "initiation"—which really just means being assigned a specific mantra and receiving a lesson on how to meditate properly.

Scientifically speaking, the benefits of TM can be explained by entering an alpha state of consciousness—essentially "resting while awake." One prerequisite, as someone already mentioned here, is reducing thought activity; ideally to the point where you aren't thinking about anything at all.

Even Fromm pointed out that this is the ultimate antidote to stress.
Yet, if you read the TM literature, you’ll find nothing but self-congratulatory fluff. They won't give you the actual mantras or the concrete methods without a guru standing there to collect his cut...

I'm not an idiot; I'm not dropping a few thousand dollars just to be handed a mantra. Is it actually possible to pick one myself and get the same results? I fail to see why a mantra from some guru would carry more weight than one I select personally.

Fleminje, what you wrote regarding astral projection isn't quite right.
It's inaccurate. You don't need a near-death experience to have a profound, real encounter. An NDE is essentially the same thing as etheric projection (projecting into the physical world). During etheric projection, there is no way to tell you aren't in reality, except perhaps for the ability to fly or pass through walls. Some people even report getting out of bed and going through their daily routine, completely unaware they were in a projected state. It’s the same for those who die prematurely before they realize what's happening.

Astral projection, however, can be identified by an environment that feels "off" compared to reality. Matter becomes fluid, shaped by thought. The simplest litmus test? Look at your hands and watch them start melting. The sense of consciousness and reality is just as intense as in an NDE or etheric projection; sometimes, for experienced projectors, it's even stronger.

Certain techniques rely on visualization—creating a duplicate environment into which you shift your awareness. Initially, there's zero sense of reality, but with practice, that sense of realism becomes as solid as classic AP (where you lose awareness of the body), similar to the moment you realize you're dreaming.

As for my own experiences, I vividly remember an instance of AP when I became lucid within a dream. I wanted the dream to stop, and suddenly, I found myself in a nearly physical environment—my own room, though it was astral. The level of consciousness was phenomenal. I was fully present, and the impact of that AP left me reeling for three days straight. I felt as though I were radiating heat. I'll provide more details later, provided you all share your experiences first. I've broken the ice; now it's your turn.

These little pamphlets constantly compare meditation to pouring oil—you know, that perfectly steady stream—or perhaps the flame of a candle sitting in a room where the air is completely still. It’s their way of trying to paint a picture of what the state should actually feel like.

I assume you're reading from our usual crowd of authors, 🙂

How long have you been practicing, and how much time do you put in daily?

Walk me through your routine, step by step. Where did you even stumble upon this method? Did you actually engineer it yourself from scratch, as you claimed earlier?
Consciousness in Spirituality ·
Believe me, there aren't any actual written techniques out there—just books filled with vague, sweeping generalities that offer zero practical substance.

Let’s try to actually define "meditation" here, since it’s such a broad, catch-all term that people throw around without thinking. How would you personally define it?

You say, "find a quiet spot and clear your head," but besides just obsessing over "nothingness," the mind can be harnessed for all sorts of other things. For instance, one could focus on constructing an astral vehicle to facilitate consciousness transfer, which triggers astral projection. Does that fall under the umbrella of meditation, or is it something else entirely?

And look, if you actually have some firsthand experience with this, then speak up...😛

I’ve burned through plenty of books and spent countless hours lurking on various forums dedicated to astral projection. If there is one thing you need to burn into your brain, it’s this: consistency is everything. You need a daily practice—not too much, not too little. We're talking about roughly 15 minutes. It’s simple physics, really. If you slack off for an entire week and then try to make up for lost time by cramming it all into a single day, you’ll hit a wall. It just won't work.

Now, let's be honest: I am a fundamentally lazy person. The mere thought of maintaining a strict daily routine makes my skin crawl.😱

Why is it impossible to find any actual techniques for transcendental meditation anywhere? Is there even such a thing as a written guide, or am I right in assuming that the teacher
holds all the cards here?

😁

Karen Sanchez19, what kind of meditation routine are you actually running? Lay some of those interesting experiences out here for us.😁

First, you need about two years of heavy theoretical research and library grinding, paired with some light practice. After that? It’s just work, work, work... endless labor.

Talking nonsense gets you nowhere. Drugs might offer a shortcut, but only under strictly controlled conditions and only after years of discipline once a person actually possesses the mental fortitude to command their own mind.

That’s the reality: sit down and put in the hours. Read the literature, identify the techniques that resonate with you, and get to 😁

Every author of occult, meditative, or magical texts preaches the same thing: work, work, and more work.

With a relatively small amount of effort—say, a few months—an average person can become quite proficient at astral projection techniques.

Drugs merely cloud consciousness and dull mental clarity. They won't lead to any actual spiritual evolution; they'll just drive you straight toward a total collapse.
