Project: Find a Friend (Classifieds / Meetup Thread) in Psychology & Therapy ·
Hey there, folks,

I’m a 35-year-old guy living out in California.

Honestly, I’ve been dealing with a whole cocktail of stuff—panic attacks, depression, social anxiety, you name it, it’s usually all happening at once. I’ve managed to get a handle on a few things here and there, but other parts of my mental health still trip me up quite a bit. Oh, and OCD is also part of the mix.

I’ve been going to therapy for quite a while now, but lately, I feel like I’m just spinning my wheels. Honestly, it feels like I might even be sliding backward, if I ever actually made any real progress to begin with...

I’ve always had this dream of finding a little crew, just a tight-knit group of people who aren't going to judge me, who really "get" it, just like I'd get them. People I could just totally hang out with and be myself around, you know? Like those lifelong friends you just click with. But hey, maybe dreaming a little isn't against the rules...

It would be so cool to have someone to hit the beach with, catch a movie, or just grab a coffee and swap stories. Basically, I just want some genuine connection and to build some real friendships.

If anyone relates to what I'm saying, whether it's just chatting online or eventually meeting up somewhere down the road, I'd love to hear from you. We can talk about anything—deep stuff, lighthearted jokes, heavy topics, or just random nonsense. Doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl, I'm just looking for connection.

Thanks for reading, and cheers to everyone!

Ps. This mental health sub-forum is such a breath of fresh air. It honestly makes everything feel a little lighter knowing you aren't the only one struggling. So, I’m calling on everyone here: reach out to each other, share what you're going through, and just be there for one another. We really need to kill the stigma surrounding mental health... Also, a huge thank you to everyone who's being so open with their own stories and helping others out.
