The way we talk about aging and legacy in The World Around Us ·
It feels like we’re obsessed with the lives of famous families, but it really makes you think about how much we value the elders who paved the way for them. Do you think our culture actually respects the older generation, or are we just watching them like they're characters in a show?

Hey everyone,

I’m 30 years old, originally from California, and I’ve reached a point where I’d love to find an interesting soul to hang out with—provided we actually have something to say to one another, 🙂 of course.
Honestly, I think the easiest way to figure out if there's any actual chemistry is to see how we vibe through this digital space first.

As for what makes me tick: I’m big into literature, cinema, a healthy dose of sci-fi, hunting down local craft beers, and those deep, existential conversations about the state of the world and our tiny, somewhat insignificant roles within it.

If, after exchanging a reasonable amount of words online, we both decide that we actually click, it would be wonderful to take things offline.
I’ll admit to feeling a bit isolated lately—even though I have some work friends and a few others scattered across the US.

If we were to meet up, my ideal outings would involve getting out into nature, catching a movie, hitting up a theater or a concert, or just sampling some of those aforementioned beers (though I wouldn't say no to some good bourbon 🙂 either).

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to connect with someone—perhaps someone just as solitary as I am—who would be interested in this kind of digital correspondence. Honestly, gender isn't a factor for me here.

I’m 30 years old. My days are mostly spent lost in a good book, catching a movie, or just taking long walks while enjoying my own company. To be blunt, I struggle with depression—it's a heavy weight to carry—and I’ve realized that engaging with another person might help shift my focus away from the constant loop of my own melancholy thoughts. That’s really why I’m posting this. While the idea of meeting up in person feels daunting and unlikely, I think we could find a certain solace in being "word nerds" together—just drifting through the sentences we send one another. As for the substance of our chats? I have little interest in the mundane "how was your day" small talk; I much prefer deep, philosophical tangents that lead absolutely nowhere. I tend to live without much of a roadmap for the future—call it a lack of perspective, if you will.

Anyway, I put some effort into putting this out there, so perhaps someone will actually see it.

Thanks for reading 🙂!
