Project: Find a Friend (Classifieds / Meetup Thread)
in Psychology & Therapy ·
I had this wild thought slip into my head last night... just imagining a world where Walt Disney somehow managed to direct 32,850 films. I mean, one movie for nearly every single evening of our lives—from age three all the way up to ninety-three, skipping just one 😁 during leap years. In a reality like that, I can't help but feel people might be a little closer, maybe love each other a bit more, and certainly get angry a lot less.
I’d honestly love to meet someone like that—someone to try and become a better person with, you know? To love more, get frustrated less, and maybe grow or learn things side-by-side. We could even start a little book club or a film club or something. It doesn't really matter where you live, because so much of what we all need—myself included—can happen right here through these digital threads. That said, I am living in Washington, D.C. (so it would be pretty neat if you were nearby too, especially since I recently mastered the art of sautéing garlic in oil without burning it—so, hey, we could have a cooking club too! 😁 ). Age and career don't matter much to me either, though I should mention I'm currently a student in my mid-twenties.
So, if you ever find yourself feeling periodically lonely, just like I do, and you feel like you're missing an extra ear (and trust me, I've got two 🙂 ready to listen) in your life... well, there aren't many things I cherish more than when someone shares a little piece of their journey with me in a message. Maybe we'll become friends one day, or maybe we won't, but I'll truly be happy just reading whatever you decide to write. 🙂
