I know it sounds a bit silly, but that's just how the system works.

So, does this mean we actually have to physically show up at a Department of Health and Human Services office to stand in line once our Social Security info updates via the online portal, just to hand over access credentials for the health portal?

We used the quick registration feature on Medicare Online. Once a company registers for Social Security, does the enrollment with Medicare happen automatically? And once that's settled, can we then send Medicare our access list along with the Social Security filing and all the other supporting paperwork to secure access to the digital health portal?

Check their websites to see if they offer online forms. Fill them out and just email them directly to the agents at those agencies.

Thanks for the reply. So, it's business as usual then? I assume everything can be handled electronically.

And regarding registering the company with the IRS—do I still have to deal with an agent in person with physical paperwork? I know I can register for an EIN and handle the sales tax setup through the online system, but am I really expected to hand-deliver the actual documents?

We’re looking to add another entity to our existing digital certificate used for the IRS portals and Social Security filings. It’s necessary to register this additional business under our current credentials. How does one handle the registration for tax and social security systems this year? In the old days, everything was handled via paper trails—but since we haven't touched these filings in quite some time, what is the protocol now? Is an in-person visit to the IRS required, or can this entire headache be resolved through the online portal?

Here is what you need:

Certification from the Ministry of Interior of Canada confirming the wife and children reside in Canada
Certification from the Department of Homeland Security confirming the wife and children DO NOT have residency in the US
A marriage certificate from Canada issued within the last 6 months
A copy of the wife's ID
Birth certificates for all the children

Take all of that to the local Medicare office (the one in Washington, D.C. is at 37 Branimirova St) and Medicare will coordinate with the Canadian health authorities to ensure everyone is covered under the father.

I just figured this all out recently after calling the Medicare info line regarding individual insurance.

Thanks; that's exactly how it worked for us, too.

Jack Rodriguez85 said:Use the "foreign national" insurance base. I've had to do this 5 or 6 times already just this year. For the M1P attachment, just upload a scan of their work permit—not their ID, specifically the actual work permit.

The JOPPD stays exactly the same as if they were a local worker; once they have a work permit, they'll have a residence and a Social Security number here in the States. Just don't forget to pull their tax withholding info through the IRS website.

Thanks, that’s exactly how I handled it.

Has anyone here actually dealt with registering an employee from Canada? How exactly do you report them for Social Security under the "foreign national employee" section for the insurance base? And what’s the deal with filling out the JOPPD form for this?

urbanwalker72 said:It is highly probable that they all hold temporary status rather than permanent residency, which means they fall under the provisions of the Health insurance law for foreigners in America. In practical terms, this typically implies that an adult dependent who isn't otherwise insured through employment would face costs of roughly $450-$167 per month, while children could be covered under that same individual for a slightly higher monthly fee. In these instances, one really ought to examine international social security agreements, as the regulations shift significantly depending on whether the individuals are from the European Union or elsewhere.

Regarding child benefits, a foreign national is generally only eligible if they have maintained permanent residency for more than three years or if they have obtained American citizenship. There is also eligibility for those with asylum seeker status or subsidiary protection. 😁

You clearly misunderstood my point. If only one person is employed and holds temporary residency while the spouse and children remain in Canada, I don't believe they can access free healthcare in America if they lack local residency. One doesn't just "get" residency on a whim, does one? But their interest isn't in paying premiums; their goal is to secure free healthcare through the employed individual, much like our own domestic employees do.

I’m looking for some clarity here. If an employee from Canada is working for a firm in America—let's say they have their work permit and residency sorted, and they're fully paying into Social Security and Medicare—can his wife and children be covered under his health insurance if they don't hold US residency? I assume the answer is no, based on what I read on the Medicare website, but I'd value your perspective. Also, what about child benefits? Do they actually qualify for those?

Any updates on the licensing situation?

A question? I need to de-register two companies from the IRS online portal. One went into bankruptcy, and the other was sold off entirely. Am I still stuck filing these requests via hard copies in triplicate, or has everything moved online?
Do I actually need to track down an agent regarding the firm that was sold? From what I can see, the buyer hasn't reported a single thing to the IRS besides a simple change in the business name.

The citizen side of things gets updated every now and then. For instance, you can grab a criminal background check through there lately.

I don't think it's the IRS, is it?

Listen, people, when is this supposed expansion of the IRS service offerings actually going live? Or has it already happened? There’s been some talk about these new certificates being issued, but frankly, I can't make heads or tails of it.

We’re looking at a shipment of goods from the US to Germany. Is it actually possible to issue the invoice in USD and in American? What specific details are mandatory on the invoice? Also, since the buyer is handling the transport themselves, what additional documentation do we need to prove the goods actually crossed the border into another USA member state beyond just the invoice?

Has anyone here ever dealt with a cracked health insurance card and needed a replacement? They’re telling me I have to fill out Form 1, attach a photocopy of my driver's license, and head down to Medicare & Medicaid Services with the broken card to hand everything in—marked clearly as a "replacement" on the form. Is that really the process?

If there isn't a tax liability transfer to report, am I still expected to file an empty PPO form? And does this same rule apply to the OPZ-STAT 1?

Does one have to account for both the sales tax and the obligation, or just the obligation itself? This is my first time importing a vehicle from the European Union.

Another question. I was browsing the IRS website and came across the following section, which got me thinking: how much weight does this note actually carry? I received an invoice yesterday dated April 24, 2016, so it belongs in the Q2 sales tax filings. Registration is already processed. But tell me, if the books ever face an audit, does this specific certification on the invoice even matter?

Fine. Thanks.
