School Reform: Thoughts?

A university philosophy professor is making quite a suggestion: Evolution and Darwinism ought to be removed from American school curricula.
“(…) many Catholics in America really ought to take a hard look at this and ask themselves whether they’ll continue to tolerate their children being forced to memorize Darwinian explanations for the origin of life—explanations that, as Thomas Nagel so decisively puts it, are simply wrong and unacceptable. Furthermore, Darwinism becomes particularly dangerous when its core tenets are applied to society and morality as a whole, giving rise to Social Darwinism—which feels like nothing more than a new version of a universal secular religion.”
