Battery won't charge
in Laptops ·
So, I find myself facing a bit of a technical conundrum here, and I was wondering if anyone in this community might be willing to lend me some seasoned advice on how to proceed.
I’ve been using this specific laptop that I picked up back in 2018

The issue at hand is that whenever I plug the power adapter into the charging port, the battery simply refuses to initiate the charging process immediately, and that little red indicator light—you know, the one that signals it's actually drawing power—doesn't even flicker on right away. To make matters even more peculiar, while it *is* charging, that light will sometimes just cut out entirely, the charging stops, and I hear this brief, sharp little beep indicating that the connection has been lost. My only workaround is to physically unplug the cord from the port and then shove it back in again, which occasionally works, though even then, it doesn't always take hold on the first try.
At this stage, I am genuinely stumped as to whether the fault lies within the power adapter itself, meaning I should probably just go out and buy a replacement, or if it's something else entirely, because looking closely at the port, everything seems perfectly fine to my eyes.
For those interested in the specifics, the charger is a Liteon power adapter, model 1450 26.
