My grandmother has these little lumps appearing on her body, mostly concentrated around her joints. About six months ago, she had some blood work done because of some kidney cysts and other concerns, and everything came back normal. Now, about a month ago, these lumps started popping up, though they seem to be receding... So, they want her to get her markers checked again because of that. For context, she deals with asthma, has a history of a heart attack, and struggles with rheumatoid arthritis.
Does anyone know about this?

So, my grandmother just got her tumor markers back... and one of them shows a cancer molecular antigen. The cutoff is 6, but hers came back at 9. Any idea what this means?
I just got my 24-hour urine cortisol results back, and this is what they look like.

Cortisol Results: 108 - 8h (Range: 138-690)
16 h (69-345)
Urine levels: 55-248.

I don't understand him at all. 🤷

Have you happened to lose any weight over the last year or two—or maybe even just the last few months—without actually trying to?
"Weak" is a pretty vague and broad term to work with...

I mean, my weight always fluctuates a bit... I'll drop a couple of pounds and then gain them right back. 🤷 It’s more like my legs feel weak, almost like a tremor or something. I'm finishing up this antibiotic on Sunday, so I plan to fast and check my blood sugar first thing Monday morning before heading to the doctor. I have to admit, I am a little caught off guard by all this. Last month, I was eating pretty much whatever I wanted, and my blood sugar was consistently staying around 6.🤷

Any kind of inflammation can potentially raise your glucose levels—though, honestly, I'm not entirely certain how a tooth infection specifically would trigger that, but I suppose it shouldn't be ruled out.
Given that both parents have diabetes, it definitely makes sense to schedule at least an OGTT once the dental treatment is finished, and then expand the diagnostic workup based on those results.
Alternatively, if lunch included a particularly sugary dessert, that might also explain that specific reading.
It is also worth keeping in mind that even home glucose monitors aren't always perfectly accurate...
Is your weight stable, or perhaps you've been exercising regularly?

I took my antibiotic around 8:00 AM, had some coffee, ate some fish, and a protein bar. At 11:30 AM, I checked my sugar and it was 6. I had pierogi for lunch at noon, and when I checked again at 2:30 PM, it was 8.7. After that, I had more coffee, took my next dose of antibiotics, and ate a little salad, and by 6:00 PM, my sugar was 7.1. Generally speaking, I've been feeling quite weak lately... and my mouth feels dry. I'm 5'5" and about 105 lbs. For the last two years, I've been using antibiotics like Augmentin for bladder infections, during which time my sugar levels were fine. My last checkup was back in November of last year. So, I'm feeling pretty anxious right now.😢
I have a quick question. Please forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong thread.

So, I was prescribed Dalacin 300 mg to deal with a tooth infection. Just out of curiosity, I decided to check my blood sugar today after breakfast, and it was 6.0. Then two hours after lunch, it was 8.7.😕

I'm taking the tablets every 8 hours, and I'm just wondering if the medication might be causing this?🤷 My parents both have diabetes, and I am 27 years old. Thanks for any insight.
I need some advice in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
So, something weird is happening with my front teeth. For the last few months, I was only brushing at night using Nature's Bounty toothpaste, but lately, I’ve switched things up—using the Kennedy family protect formula with magnesium and fluoride, plus some Vadamecum mouthwash. Last year, I went to see my dentist because my incisor was hurting, but she just told me it was gum inflammation and that I needed to keep things clean. I've actually been avoiding using my front teeth altogether out of pure anxiety. Now, I'm experiencing this sensation where my jaw feels completely limp both in the morning and at night... it's almost like I have no sensation there. Even if I try to bite down with my other teeth, the feeling fades after a few minutes. This has been going on for about three months now. To make matters worse, cavities are starting to show up on my central and lateral incisors. I finally managed to snag an appointment with my dentist this Monday to get everything fixed once and for all. Does anyone have advice on what I should do in the meantime? Also, my father dealt with periodontitis, so I'm worried. What do you think my prognosis looks like?😢 Thanks for any input
we're all set 😢

Personally, I tend to view incidents like these as a severe form of trolling, so I usually assign them somewhere between 50 and 100 penalty points.

I suppose someone who wants to report an individual has every right to do so without making a public spectacle of it, because by doing so, they are essentially attempting to unfairly force their perspective onto the discussion and undermining the work of the Moderators and Reddit Administrators

In principle, I would likely support any initiative aimed at standardizing how we handle such infractions across the whole of Reddit

I completely agree

but when it comes to certain people, they really are overdoing it. 🙄

Hey everyone. I figured I'd jump in and share some photos of myself.

Unfortunately, I have a really hard time putting on any weight. 😁

I honestly feel like I overeat and eat just about everything, yet the scale won't budge. 😢 I did have a major surgery about three years ago...

I'm definitely open to any advice you might have. 😉
