That’s not "faith" teaching us anything—that’s just the Catholic Church, and those two things are definitely not the same thing.
Benjamin Taylor6 said:Honestly, that doesn't even sound all that bad. I mean, most atheists spend their whole lives worrying about what happens to their "Self" after they die—but if this is true, they just vanish forever! No more ego, no more existential dread, just... gone.
(I didn't realize the Pope had started leaning into the Jehovah's ideas. For them, hell is basically just the permanent annihilation of our identity after death.)
That sounds pretty comforting to me.😁

Is it the son who never once set foot in that house, never lifted a finger for maintenance, and wouldn't know a thing about helping his parents out? Or is it the son who lived under the same roof, cared for them, looked after the property, and actually paid the mortgage installments as part of the household?
The heirs will be whoever the court or the notary officially names in the inheritance decree.
You can't just shut your brain off... and honestly, it’s a mistake to give up on trying. That whole idea is based on a total misconception. Thoughts are going to keep popping up, period. When they do, just let them pass by—let them drift through without grabbing onto them or giving them any real attention. Don't you dare quit.
Eventually, the noise dies down and things start to slow
I signed her up myself... not because she asked, but because she insisted on seeing what all the fuss was about. She’s just a freshman, so
there's zero chance she'll be doing this again next year. I'm just hoping she gets over this phase eventually.
I was flipping through the textbook yesterday and it's full of nonsense. Apparently, kids are supposed to give up sweets during Lent now? What kind of logic is that? :-) haha
It's ridiculous. I doubt it'll cause any permanent damage, but then again, that's what happens when you let a freshman make the decisions.
