Can meditation actually help me? in Spirituality ·
Alright, look, this whole thread has branched out into so many different directions—I’ve gone through every single post, and honestly, I’m still sitting here chewing on what you guys were actually trying to get at. I’m trying to figure out if any of this stuff even matters to me, like, is this information actually useful? Right now, I’ve been meditating for less than a week—just doing about thirty minutes a day, nothing fancy, no background music or weird rituals or anything. Maybe it’s just a placebo effect (if that thing even exists, haha), but I feel like my thoughts are more organized and my focus is definitely sharper. I’m gonna keep at it and see where this journey takes me 🤔

I can see that messing around with kundalini is no joke—honestly, the idea of diving deep into all that meditation stuff scares me a little bit 😁 Even though this whole "self-discovery" thing sounds right up my alley, I’m pretty convinced my chakras or whatever energy pathways are in play just aren't clean enough yet—not that I’d say I’m 100% sold on the existence of God or chakras, per se. For the first few months, I think I'll just stick to something basic, maybe just sitting quietly with my eyes closed, to give my thoughts more room to wander and see where the road leads. Thanks for all the input. That part about triggering mental health issues really hit a nerve—definitely doesn't sound like a fun time—though I do deal with low ego issues, which I don't really view as some huge "curse." I also have episodes of OCPa attacks, which I honestly feel have shaped me into the person I am today. It makes me wonder, though—could mental health struggles actually be our way of perceiving energy that we just aren't prepared for? Or is it just hardwired into us? I'm not talking about medical stuff like genetics here, but come on, aren't we supposed to be the masters of our own bodies?

So, let me introduce myself—I'm Philip. I’m 19, but honestly, I’ve never really been into the typical teenage stuff. For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with life values, building actual character, mental growth, and just... unlocking my full potential. Sometimes I get this massive hunger for knowledge and picking up new skills, but it feels like I haven't quite leveled up my spiritual training enough to actually think clearly and execute everything my brain comes up with—you know, basically just living a higher-quality life. I don't play video games, I barely spend any time scrolling through Netflix or wasting hours online, and I am absolutely fascinated by psychology—I'm constantly trying to apply it to my own life. I have this specific list of qualities I’m aiming for: patience, grit, decisiveness, reliability, creativity, self-control, and deep knowledge. To me, those are basically my Ten Commandments. Do you guys think meditation could actually help me reach those goals?
I'm open to whatever you've got, so please, share your experiences with meditation.
