How far back does one actually have to prove the origin of their assets? 10, 20, 100 years?
After a certain point, there should be a statute of limitations where they can no longer demand proof of origin... I heard it might be 6 years, though I'm not sure if that's accurate.
If there were no statute of limitations, they could essentially investigate how your great-grandfather acquired his wealth.
