Greetings.

Back in 2015, I planned to upgrade and finish a residential building. Current status: one floor, unfinished (just a flat concrete slab). The structure dates back to 1979 and was legalized exactly as it stands. It has been sitting like that since the 80s.

06/ 2015. - A designer drafted the main project in compliance with the Department of Planning and Zoning, including all attachments, and submitted it to the local building department (project: adding a low attic to the structure).

12/ 2015. - Still no response from the office, nor any requests for additional documentation. I heard unofficially that they are currently drafting a new Department of Planning and Zoning plan.

02/2016 - The head of the office tells my designer that they are in the middle of creating a new Department of Planning and Zoning plan, suggesting some regulations will be easier and advising us to wait for the new plan to be finalized.

-WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR, despite numerous inquiries.

07/2017 - We finally receive the first official response from the relevant office—a denial. They are demanding a revision of the main project to comply with the new Department of Planning and Zoning regulations. (The total height of the building no longer meets the newly imposed limits). Based on these new rules, I can now only add a roof to the ground floor, not an extra level, because I only have 1 meter of clearance left before hitting the limit. There is no room. The notice claims there is no right to appeal.

I lost my mind. I immediately sent a formal letter explaining that I submitted the application for a building permit under the old Department of Planning and Zoning rules back in 2015, yet the response arrives in 2017 based on the new zoning. (For context, this is a small cottage on a sloped lot where the new Department of Planning and Zoning has capped the height. Even within the neighborhood, my building is the lowest; all neighboring properties are finished with two stories. It is absurd regarding the neighborhood context, and my unfinished structure just looks like an eyesore.)

08/2017 - The head of the office sends me a Gmail stating I would receive a new decision in September. To this day, nothing.

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE? Can an office really go two years without responding to a building permit request? What does Zog say?
Dell Inspiron 15 long beep on startup - help! in IT Support ·
Hi everyone.

I need help troubleshooting this issue:
I'm a novice, but I have enough technical knowledge to try fixing things myself.
Dell Inspiron 15, P T4500 processor, 3GB Random Access Memory, 320GB HDD
-Used by an elderly user (retiree)

-When powered on, it emits a continuous long beep. The screen stays black with the message 'press Formula 2 to enter setup'. Pressing Formula 2 does nothing, and the keyboard is completely unresponsive.

-Occasionally, if I tap the power button several times, Windows 7 starts loading. Once it boots, it runs perfectly fine. However, once it's shut down and restarted, the cycle repeats.

Sometimes I spend thirty minutes trying this; every single time it starts with that long beep... eventually, after rapid tapping of the power button, Windows might actually boot.

Naturally, holding the button down too long just forces a shutdown.
I initially suspected the battery since it's weak, but the behavior is identical when I remove the battery and run it directly off the AC adapter.

I thought it might be the Random Access Memory, but the sticks are functional and there's no dust buildup.

Could this be the CMOS battery? How would I verify that?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!
Hey there.

I'm a bit behind the curve when it comes to modern hardware—my apologies. 🤷

Mobo: ASUS P5N-E motherboard (4 DIMM slots, 8GB RAM max)
CPU: Intel Core2Duo 2.4 GHz e4600 hard drive
HDD: Samsung 150
GPU: GeForce 8400gs 256mb (ASUS) - my current setup
RAM: 1 stick of 1gb DDR2 PC2-5300

The issue arises whenever I try to boot the system after adding a second stick of RAM. I can't pinpoint the conflict.
The board has 4 DIMM slots: A1, A2, B1, B2.
If I put the stick in A1, the speaker emits a constant beep and nothing happens—no boot.
If I use A2 or B2, it beeps intermittently and still fails to boot.

When I use slot B1, it boots normally.
But if I add the second (identical) stick, it won't boot in any position at all.

It's a motherboard failure, right?

By the way, any recommendations for a decent GPU for this board? It has a PCI-E x16 slot.
Boy, 7 years old. Height: 47 in, Weight: 50 lbs. He’s dealing with anemia, so we ran blood work to get a clear picture of where things stand. Looking for some insight on these results:

-Out of range parameters:

HB: 109 g/L (120 - 175)
MCH: 26.6 pg (27.0 - 33.0)
MCHC: 299 g/L (320 - 360)
RDW: 30.1 % (12 - 15)

SE: 15/34 ( M 5-12 ; F 10-24)

UIBC: 12.5 L umol/L (28.0 - 68.0)
TIBC: 22.8 L umol/L (49.0 - 72.0)

What’s the next step here? What should we be asking the pediatrician?
Thanks in advance. Cheers.
