Expungement process: How does it work? in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
So, what you're saying is there's basically no way for me to get into the police academy? Is that the bottom line? My lawyer tried to tell me it wouldn't be an issue because my record was expunged, but honestly, I wasn't buying his pitch for a second. That’s why I figured I’d throw this out here and see what you guys think... It was always my dream to join, but man, I really screwed things up during those wild teenage years. What can you do, right?

The job posting specifically asks for this: "Must provide documentation from both the local and state courts confirming that there are no pending criminal charges against the applicant (documents must be issued within the last 6 months)."

I'm talking about Mexico here—I hope that doesn't cause any issues with the rules. I've been lurking on this forum for ages, following every single update on everything you guys post, so I finally decided it was time to stop being a spectator and actually drop a question of my own. Cheers.

When I was 16 years old, I ended up getting arrested and convicted under a statute regarding the "unauthorized manufacture and distribution of controlled substances." The thing is, the little baggies were only packed in 1g increments, but they weren't meant for sale—they were strictly for personal use. Aside from that one instance, I’ve had a perfectly clean record, both before and after. Back then, the court just gave me a formal reprimand without any probation or jail time. Fast forward to now: I'm 21, and I have two specific questions for the group.

1. Since legal expungement has kicked in and my records show I have no prior convictions, does that actually mean I've been scrubbed from the police databases? If a regular patrol officer pulls me over for a routine ID check, will they still see this offense on their screen even though I've been cleared?

2. There's an opening for a position in the police department, and I've decided to apply. To satisfy the requirement of proving I have a clean record, I went ahead and pulled the official paperwork from the local courts. Is there any chance this could still come back to haunt me during the background check process?

Best to everyone. :-)

Maybe look into some topical stuff instead—something like benzoyl peroxide—but for heaven's sake, do it under a doctor's supervision, preferably a dermatologist.
It is incredibly reckless to go playing chemist on your own with random products; you could permanently wreck your skin. You're 15, and trust me, I know how miserable this feels, but usually, this stuff clears up significantly on its own after a year or two.
Bottom line: talk to a professional about your next steps. Don't go rogue. 😉

It actually makes sense to redo those tests in about 6 to 8 weeks, or sooner if you need to.
Have you dealt with any liver issues, jaundice, or maybe infectious mononucleosis lately? Or perhaps you have Gilbert's syndrome?

I haven't had any issues until now. I saw my dermatologist, and he told me I needed blood work done before starting Roaccutane, and well... here are the results. Everything else is fine; I don't have any pain or anything like that. 🙂

By the way, last night I drank about five glasses of apple juice, and then around 1:30 in the morning, I ate half a loaf of bread and had another glass of juice. Then I went in to get my blood drawn around 10:00 AM.
Hey everyone, I just headed out to the doctor to get some bloodwork done because I’m looking to start on Roaccutane for my acne. However, it looks like a few of my levels came back a bit high.

The results:
Total Bilirubin 23.2 (Normal: 5.0-21.0)
Direct Bilirubin 4.0 (Normal up to 3.4)
AST(GOT) 36.0 (Normal up to 35.0)

Everything else looks perfectly fine.

I'm 15 years old.
I've heard people mention that these kinds of numbers point to liver issues... is this actually something dangerous, or am I overthinking it? 🙂
Honestly, I’ve been thinking about it, and it might just be because I’m basically a shut-in lately. I spend half my damn day glued to my computer screen, and then when I finally actually step outside, I'm not doing anything remotely active. I don't know... I'm starting to suspect that's the culprit. :/
What kind of illness are we even talking about here, or whatever this is supposed to be? And more importantly, is there actually a way to get past it? :/

P.S. ruggedmarlin2, how did you end up feeling after everything went down?
Hey everyone, I’m 14 years old and I’ve been dealing with this issue for about a year now. Basically, whenever I go out on my bike, I get absolutely wiped out. About six months ago, I rode from my house over to a friend's apartment, and by the time I got back home, I felt like death—I was nauseous, my blood pressure felt through the roof, and my heart was pounding so hard I thought it was going to jump right out of my chest 😁.. Even just getting out of the bathtub after a shower makes me feel like I just ran a marathon, and occasionally, when I get up from bed, it feels like someone just smacked me in the head (though that doesn't happen all the time). Also, I can't seem to take a full breath; it's like I'm barely breathing, or sometimes I just don't even feel like trying 😁.. A year ago, I used to be really active doing traditional dance, but I don't do anything anymore. I mostly just hang out at home or head outside to play some basketball. I get tired, sure, but nothing like that one time where it felt like my heart was going to explode
..
For the record, I'm not overweight or anything..
P.S. Sometimes I get exhausted just walking around or even making my bed lol (it's like I just ran a 1.4 miles xD)... I honestly feel like an old man. I have moments where I'm super energetic, but most of the time...
