So, this method would allow individuals within the US to transfer foreign currency between one another, since there's an American bank acting as the intermediary.

Has anyone experimented with transferring USD between two different foreign currency accounts owned by separate individuals here in the States? Apparently, banks don't permit direct foreign currency deposits within the US, so I'm wondering if this might serve as a straightforward workaround.
