Is it just me, or is there nothing more satisfying than watching a "perfect" run finally get snapped? I love seeing the underdogs ruin a dominant team's momentum. Does anyone else find the sudden shift in energy after a loss more interesting than the winning streak itself?
Daniel Chase13 said:Actually, Benedict XVI. didn't see this as "bizarre" at all. In fact, he offered his official blessing to the idea—something released via an official Vatican document—that many Catholic PhD scientists (we’re talking geologists, biologists, biophysicists, physicists, and chemists, as well as theologians and philosophers) openly lecture on the literal creation of the universe. They argue that God created the first pair, Adam and Eve, in six literal days roughly 6,000 years ago, and that fossil-bearing sedimentary rocks were actually formed rapidly during a massive, global catastrophic flood about 4,500 years ago.
Here’s a lecture on the age of Earth. He thinks Earth is 6,000 years old, but he doesn't think it's a flat disc, just a globe.
The calm and polite Milton from his younger days. (Age of Earth)
🙂
The cynical Milton everyone knows. (Is Earth a flat disc?)
Duspara reminds me a bit of Milton, though this guy talks about Earth being a flat disc while the other one rambles about everything under the sun...😁

He's an interesting guy, makes some solid points. Sure, he's got his flaws just like anyone else. Like any Catholic , Elvis Presley firmly believes in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
I'm not even sure Elvis Presley is actually Catholic. I mean, yeah, he believes Jesus Christ is God, so that checks out, but he spends half his time tearing into the Catholic Church and its dogmas—like stuff about the Virgin Mary and all that. A real Catholic isn't gonna question the Rosary or honoring the Blessed Mother, but he does... So to me, he's either a Protestant or maybe even a Messianic Jew. You know, the ones who recognize Jesus as God? The Earth is 6,000 years old, it's a flat plane, Moses' Pentateuch, pigs being unclean animals... that's all Messianic Jewish belief right there.
What do you guys think about Elvis Presley?
Who does he even represent? Is he Catholic, Protestant, a Jehovah's Witness, some kind of Messianic Jew...? Or is he just a total troll looking for attention and a quick buck? Is he a gift from God spreading real values... or just some fake prophet?
Hey everyone! If there's already a thread like this, please point me in that direction. Thanks a lot. 🙂
Here's the medical issue. Has anyone dealt with losing their senses?
I've got two family situations to lay out, so if anyone can weigh in or offer advice...
My mom completely lost her sense of smell and taste. Totally gone. 😢
Basically, she can't tell the difference between the smell of BBQ and, excuse my language, something gross like crap. I'm using an extreme example just so you get how bad it is. She literally cannot smell anything. Not flowers, not fish, not steak, not perfume. NOTHING. Nothing at all. Good or bad. And the taste? Gone too. She could eat anything and have no clue what it is. You give her fish, tell her it's beef, and if she can't see it, she’d swear it's meat. This has been going on for a while now. She saw an ENT, who told her some virus just wiped those senses out. She had a viral thing right before this happened, though it wasn't even that heavy. Once she recovered from the virus, her smell and taste were just dead. Anyone else dealt with this?

Then there's my own situation, which isn't nearly as bad as my mom's. But look, three different times in my life, I've temporarily lost my sense of touch entirely. Like, seriously. I touch my skin and feel absolutely nothing. Put my hand in boiling water vs. ice water, and there's zero difference. Pick up a 20-pound weight, feels like I'm picking up a feather. Wood, metal, plastic... no difference. If I closed my eyes and touched something, I wouldn't know what it was. It's happened three times now, always lasting about a week, and then the feeling slowly crawls back. It just happened again recently. I'm fine now, but 5 or 6 days ago, I couldn't even feel myself typing on my keyboard. Super weird. Anyone experienced this? Why does my sense of touch just vanish sometimes? I haven't mentioned this to my doctor yet. Should I? 🤷
Two questions:
1. Is there any chance my mom gets her smell and taste back?
2. Am I at risk of losing my sense of touch forever since this keeps happening?

Thanks for the help! 🙂
