Chime: My experience so far in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Kevin Morris12 said:With Chime, unfortunately, only the referrer gets the $15; the person being invited doesn't get anything at all.

How can I make money by inviting friends to Chime?

You earn $15 every single time you successfully refer a friend to Chime (up to a maximum of $1,500).

In order for you to receive your reward, your friend needs to check all these boxes:
  • Finish their sign-up process using your specific referral link or personal code.
  • Activate their Mastercard.
  • Make just one transaction (whether it's in-store, online, or at an ATM) using their Mastercard for at least $15.

On the other hand, once you've registered, you can use alternative apps to access your Chime account (or any other US-based bank account) that actually split the bonus, giving $10 to both the referrer and the new user. One of the apps I personally use is Numbrs (An App. All Banks).

They claim the money hits your account (Chime) within 7 days of registration, though it usually takes a bit longer than that. I actually just received a payout myself:

Since major American banks are increasingly required to open up their digital banking interfaces to these types of third-party apps, perhaps one day Numbrs will be able to integrate with all sorts of standard US bank accounts too.

Unfortunately, that is spot on. They actually tweaked the terms—back in the day, it was a win-win where both parties snagged $10 each!
Regardless of the incentive, though—I still say go for it and open an account.

Greetings,

Since I haven't stumbled upon any discussions regarding Chime here yet, I thought I’d jump in and share my own experience—hopefully, it proves useful to someone!

I’ve been using Chime over here in the States for three years now, and honestly, it’s the only bank I actually use.
The whole setup—opening the account and getting verified—is done entirely online; once that's settled, they just mail the card straight to your doorstep.
By default, they send you a debit Mastercard, but you can also request a Maestro card—that's included in the account and won't cost you an extra dime.
There aren't any monthly maintenance fees, unless you decide to opt for one of those premium packages that bundle in extra perks like insurance (which aren't really my thing—the basic account works perfectly fine for me).
Because I have my salary deposited directly into this account, I get five free cash withdrawals every month at any ATM that carries the Mastercard logo.
If you aren't receiving a direct deposit, I believe you're limited to three withdrawals per month.
As for the app itself? It’s incredibly intuitive and packed with features—it's significantly more streamlined than any American net banking service I've encountered.
Moving money from my accounts here to other places works flawlessly without Chime charging a fee, though your local US bank might tack on a small transaction fee.

Unfortunately, there isn't an option for specialized currency accounts quite yet, but from what I hear, they are working on expanding those options—so once you're settled in the US, I highly recommend opening a Chime account.

If anyone is looking to sign up, I’ve included a link below—if you open an account and complete your first transaction, we both snag a $15 bonus (that's $15 for you and $15 for me!).

I hope this little breakdown helps you out!
