Greetings, everyone. I am currently looking to upgrade my gtx 460, so I was hoping to hear some of your suggestions regarding potential replacements. My budget is roughly $500 and I would likely be purchasing through Best Buy, though I find myself leaning toward Nvidia graphics cards if possible. As for my current setup, I am running an i5 2400 along with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, which I am planning to expand to 8 GB quite soon.
Personally, when I undertake a deep cleaning of my PC, I tend to go quite thoroughly by removing the heatsinks from both the CPU and the GPU. I usually take the fans out and wash them under running water, making sure to dry them completely with a hairdryer before reapplying thermal paste and reassembling everything. If there’s any lingering dust inside the chassis, I just blow it out. This method has been my standard routine for about seven years now, and I haven't run into any issues whatsoever. I suppose, if you decide to clean your rig, it might be wise to run Prime95 afterward to stress test the processor and monitor the temperatures closely. You could likely do something similar for the graphics card using FurMark, though you should probably keep in mind that temperatures might spike a bit higher with that than they would during actual gaming sessions.
I was wondering if anyone could explain the actual mechanism for adjusting a spark plug gap—specifically, what tool is used for the adjustment itself? I think I have a decent handle on how to measure the gap using those feeler gauges and whatnot, but I am somewhat unsure about the physical process of making the tweak.
So, I am currently running Windows XP, and since my weekly update cycle is coming up tomorrow, I was wondering if it might be possible to install Windows 7 without having to wipe all my existing programs. To be honest, the idea of reinstalling everything from scratch feels like quite a chore, so I would prefer to avoid it if I can. If this is actually doable, I suppose I would appreciate some guidance on how to go about it, as I am rather hesitant to tinker too much with the installation process without some clear instructions. Thank you.👍
So, I have an older computer setup, and I am considering picking up a new graphics card. My current motherboard is an ASUS P4S800, paired with an Intel Pentium 4 2.8 processor and about 1.5 GB of DDR1 RAM. Right now, I am running an ATI Radeon a9550, but I would like to upgrade; however, I am limited to an AGP interface rather than PCI Express. Given these specific components, I suppose I was wondering if anyone could suggest which card might be a suitable choice for this configuration?
I currently have an older machine running a Pentium 4 2.4 processor, 512 MB of RAM, an ATI Radeon 9500 graphics card, and Windows XP SP3. It actually runs quite smoothly, without any stuttering or noticeable lag. I was wondering if perhaps Vista might be a viable option for this setup, or if I should just stick with Windows XP for the time being. Thanks.
