Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
Man, I can't wait to laugh in the faces of the Republican Party crowd if they actually pick Plenković. Imagine him playing the weak little junior partner and backing the Democrats after the elections. We’d end up with Bero as Prime Minister, the Republican Party running Parliament, and Milanović as President. What a total circus. Honestly, I’m almost rooting for the Republicans to start heading down that path right now...

Here’s the link if you missed the debate:

The folks over at the Republican Party can't quite decide if they're actually on the left or the right—or if they should just call themselves the "moderate center" to sound more sophisticated...

Brenda Taylor13 said:Kovač absolutely tore him apart. He kept throwing these pointed questions his way, but instead of just giving a straight answer, he just started dodging and playing word games—you know how it is. It was the same old story: that whole messy alliance with the Democratic Party, the deal with those leftovers from the old coalition, the ratification of that Istanbul treaty, even the fact that he didn't join the Republican Party until 2011. And don't even get me started on him writing those glowing tributes to Edvard Kardelj back in '89! He refuses to take any responsibility for losing the presidential and European elections—even though he keeps trying to convince himself and everyone else that the Republican Party actually won them. He just shifts the blame onto everyone else except himself, ignores his plummeting approval ratings, and laughs off how Bernardica outsmarted him in the last two election cycles. Then there’s the ridiculous move of putting total nobodies on the list for the European elections. And the kicker? When asked point-blank if he’s a Mason, he hesitated for like ten full seconds before answering. That’s suspicious! If you aren't, you say "No" immediately—you don't pause and hope the questioner will just let it slide... but no, he waited until Kovač practically forced the answer out of him. Too little, too late.

Look, Kovač had every single argument lined up perfectly, but honestly? It probably won't even matter tomorrow. The party machine will just spin its wheels and do its thing regardless.

To be fair, calling him a far-left extremist was actually pretty spot on. I mean, that's just who he is. Maybe "extremist" is a bit much—that might be an exaggeration—but he is definitely leaning hard into those left-wing views.

He even brought up the Borg group, and the guy just stared at the floor and cleared his throat like a deer in headlights. Kovac broke him down to the basics. It was quite a show to watch.

That’s wonderful! Truly impressive work. Bravo!
Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
Someone needs to tell the President that the Borg group is going to hit a massive wall the second he steps down—whether that’s tomorrow or this September.

To the administration: those vultures in the Borg group are a major liability for America!

Mark Hughes36 said:You are a participant in a coordinated, criminal, nationalist enterprise. And you chose to stay on that side, even today, when it should be obvious even to the blind why we ended up where we are.

Every single voter for the Republican Party and the right-wing factions has actively contributed to creating and sustaining the nationalist climate in our public discourse—a climate directly responsible for the material and moral decay of America. The scale of this collapse is best illustrated by the fact that since nationalism has dominated our public life—masquerading as patriotism and sovereignty by chauvinists—we have fallen behind every other former Eastern Bloc nation except for Bulgaria.

Therefore, absolutely everyone—every last one of them—who votes for the Republican Party or the right-wing parties is complicit in this organized, criminal, nationalist scheme.

Instead of freedom—meaning functional democracy and a market economy—you helped create an atmosphere of fear, mob mentality, and Harmon’s autocracy (including that era of the nineties' primitive accumulation of capital); followed by an era of moral relativism (fueled by rampant theft, cronyism, and nepotism) and historical revisionism under a party-driven regime that lasts to this day.

This kind of unsustainable, backward, and utterly devastated America is the product of the Republican Party, the Catholic Church (especially its pseudo-moralistic faction), and the entire right wing.

So-called patriots, yet basically just thugs of America... 🤮

You're spot on.

We can't let what happened to Branka Valentić, Lora Vidović, Emil Tedeschi, and the rest of that crew happen again—people who thrive quite comfortably under the current leadership and the right wing, as you put it. See? We're on the same page. That's why they all need to be cleared out after the next election. It's because of people like them that I'm calling for a total political overhaul to take down the current administration. See how nicely we agree?

Man, you are an accomplice to this country's decay. You are one of those people enabling the Republican Party—which hasn't met basic democratic or civilized standards—to stay in power for nearly 30 years. Not only have you fueled the nationalist rhetoric that allows them to behave this way, but by pushing that agenda, you ensure America fails to establish a functional democracy and market economy, leaving us lagging behind everyone else. And yet, you actually think this nationalist path is the solution. 🤦

Man, you are one of the undertakers of America... 🤦

No way. You lot are the ones digging the grave by voting for both sides. I haven't ever voted for the Republican Party, and my only vote for the Democrats was a one-time thing just to stop the previous administration.

You guys should be the ones jumping off the bridge. Right now, we're dealing with an incredibly dangerous left wing, yet you think the right should be led by total extremists? Give me a break.

It's exactly people like you, supporting both wings of the same party, who are the ONLY ones responsible for the state of this country!

Jason Martinez34 said:Not even then.

The media will chew him up and spit him out today—both Andrej Plenković and those network executives working in perfect synergy. That’s exactly why this was orchestrated.

But he deserves it for pushing far too hard where he shouldn't be.

Everything is being geared toward September and the elections. Maybe some soldiers will "fall" along the way, but the priority is winning the "war" in September. It's all about purging the left from the political scene. Right now, Andrej Plenković and his coalition are just the last remnants of leftist policies clinging to power.

We’re hoping Kovač comes through tomorrow, but if not, no big deal—we keep fighting. The game is just starting, and September is right around the corner.
Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
The party leader should just step down this Monday so we can head into elections by May. Whether it’s May or September doesn't really matter—there's zero reason to drag our feet.

Once the votes are in, we need to build a majority immediately and start purging those leftist holdovers from state companies, agencies, and other institutions. It's high time we finally install some true right-wing sovereignists in their place.

I know this isn't exactly your cup of tea, and you probably don't have the bandwidth to dive into it right now, but... those old-school Democrats were actually quite successful at what they did. 😁

Exactly. Just take a look at the surge in public and foreign debt during that era, and everything becomes crystal clear. It's even more obvious once you compare that GDP growth and debt trajectory against other Central European nations.

Even my grandmother could drive up GDP just by racking up debt. And she was an illiterate woman over 90 years old.

The bottom line is that the US is falling behind because of left-wing policies pushed by both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, and it’s a total disaster. I'll say it again: we need four years of what happened under Orban—the only true conservative leader since 2000—to see real progress. When you put the current poverty levels into context compared to others, the picture is grim. The Democrats and Republicans have been pushing leftist agendas for twenty years now, and enough is enough.

Mark Hughes36 said:The predictable, small-town posturing and armchair prophecy continue. It’s unoriginal, exhausting, and frankly, tedious... 🙄

For the Republicans and the nationalists, it seems nothing can wake them up. They ignore the fact that we’re being outpaced by Romania while Bulgaria catches up to us—all while we wait to officially become the most failed state in the European Union. The version of America they envisioned, and are desperately trying to force into existence, ensures we will forever lag behind almost every other nation in the West (including some that Europe essentially left in the dust).

After thirty years, they still haven't produced a single policy that isn't built on nationalism, revisionism, and religious exclusion. It’s all just a smoke screen—half nationalist zealotry, half fake Catholic morality—designed to hide the party-driven looting and the systematic destruction of the country they claim to love 🙄 so much.

The Republican Party is a cancer on the fabric of this nation. Choosing between Andrej Plenković and an even more "right-wing" faction is like choosing between a fast-growing tumor or one that just moves a little slower... 🤮

Calling things unoriginal and exhausting, then following up with four paragraphs? If I had actually written something original and effortless, you probably would have responded with a whole book. Hahaha.

But let's get back to the point. We're trailing behind Romania, and Bulgaria is catching up because of the Democrats who have been running the show for ages. Since 2000, practically, with the sole exception of that one high-performing administration where the economy actually breathed for a second, it's been the same story.

Just wait until we finally swap out the Democrats after twenty years; you'll see how the country wakes up. We don't need a miracle, just to replicate that one successful term and actually follow through on those policies for four years straight.

By forming that coalition between Andrej Plenković and the liberals, they’ve let the genie out of the bottle, and honestly, there's no easy way to shove it back in. The leftists have seized the opportunity to grab hold of key institutions, which is a recipe for disaster. Republicans will have a shot at striking back on the 15th, but we'll likely have to wait until the next general election to truly reset things.

komutator said:The only people who care about this are Democrats and their flies.

Just fighting over scraps at the table.

There's truth to that. Between the Democrats and those flies of theirs, you'll find plenty of left-wing extremists too. If that weren't the case, Plenković would have been tossed into the dustbin of history long ago. People probably wouldn't even remember his name.

Mind you, they love to claim these elections are vital for both the DNC and the Libertarians—mostly because without those voters, their "golden era" would be dead in the water. They act like it’s crucial that the people they voted for actually hold the reins. But honestly, when dealing with that crowd, your opinion might just happen to align perfectly with those specific Democratic and Libertarian voters who sent the very people to Washington to keep them in power.

Apparently, Pupovac blocked Andrej from having that showdown in the mud. Once Plenković sprinted off to the Secretary’s office just to run straight into the arms of the Democrats and the Socialists, it was obvious that Pupovac—under Buzin's guidance—is calling the shots now. Shame on you, Plenković!

A televised debate is finally on the horizon. Dr. Smith already gave the green light, so now we’re just waiting for the Prime Minister to lock in the date. With the election looming, I’m actually looking forward to seeing a top-tier leader go toe-to-toe in this format. Credit to both the PM and Smith for agreeing to this clash; it’s a solid move for strengthening democracy, both within the party and across the country.

Especially after those failed referendums, this showdown is vital. It’s a chance for them to restore at least a shred of faith in our democratic process, both internally and nationwide.
Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
- Well, my dear Republican Party friends, you saw exactly what happens when you play dirty.
- Just keep backing those fringe extremists and their hollow promises—really, it’s working out great for you.
- And please, don't even think about organizing the referendums that we, the core conservative voters, actually asked for.
- Keep up the cronyism, pushing through Plenković’s little cliques while completely ignoring the interests of the American people.
- If you keep this up, you can look forward to another empty ceremony held at the White House.
- By all means, stay loyal to Plenković and his entire inner circle of favorites.

darkdriver said:Look, it’s definitely not in my interest for the Republican Party to thrive, let alone "breathe"—and if you ask me, it's in the best interest of the country, too.
That party is basically a nasty pathogen, like a virus that's woven itself into the very fabric of this nation. It isn't going anywhere until it kills the host, so it's in the country's absolute best interest to wipe out that pathogen before it causes immeasurable, irreversible damage—if it hasn't already.
You seem to think we should take things slow with these "ailments" (God knows why), almost suggesting they could even become beneficial if we just tweak them enough. I see it completely differently, and I guess that's the fundamental difference between us.

Your opinion is certainly "modest," and you're spot on there. You've probably been voting for the Republican Party for the last 30 years.

The only thing that constitutes the American interest is the choice made by the American people. Not what you or I might want, but strictly what people decide at the ballot box. The public isn't some alien entity that just showed up out of nowhere to terrorize us for decades. It’s the people around us—maybe even ourselves—who support these specific options, these parties, these leaders, and these special interest groups.

And yes, your perspective is truly modest if you actually believe people don't want the exact kind of politicians they currently have.
