Hi there! I haven't been around here in a while, so if someone could point me in the right direction—is there a specific thread for small businesses that also do Uber driving?
Thanks
Hey everyone, I haven't been around here in a while. Could someone point me in the right direction—is there a specific thread for small businesses that also do Uber driving?
Thanks

Here’s the deal: I’m selling a product that won't actually be ready for pickup for about a month after they pay.
The customer is going to wire me the full amount upfront, but the invoice needs to show the date the product is actually delivered. That's mainly because the warranty kicks in on the invoice date—basically, once they take possession.
The catch is that the buyer wants the invoice right now so they can write it off for this month's expenses.
How do I make this work without messing up my books?
Just issue an invoice for the down payment!
I ended up getting two different emails from FINRA about fifteen days apart.
Just wanted to give you guys an update... after a massive headache switching back and forth between the local tax office and the IRS. I finally went down to the IRS to have them test my certificates—the ones they were so incredibly adamant were perfectly fine—only to find out the signing certificate was actually broken. They managed to get everything sorted by 1:00 PM on December 31st, 2015, so I just barely dodged a total disaster.
Hey everyone, I’m running into a major headache with my QuickBooks. For some reason, I can't get any digital signatures to work. I updated my security certificates yesterday, and now suddenly everything is blocked.
Does anyone have any ideas or a quick fix for this?
I've already tried troubleshooting on both my home laptop and my office desktop. I've restarted everything multiple times, too. Honestly, I'm in a huge rush to get this finished.
Yeah, honestly, I was thinking about it... but I ended up just handing the whole thing off to my boss. After ten years of learning his little tricks for passing the buck, I've finally mastered the art of making it his problem instead of mine 🤣 :zadovoljnasamasasobom:
Yeah, I’ve been doing some deep thinking lately too, though not quite along those lines. Honestly, I think we all have those moments where we just snap at how illogical certain laws are—even if that kind of frustration is pretty standard in our day-to-day lives.
Hang in there, the weekend is almost here...
👋 Anyone finished their coffee yet? I’m still nursing mine from 7 AM. Just doing a little work mixed with some mindless scrolling here ☕
So, do you guys actually have a plan for today, or are you just waiting for things to happen to you? Honestly, when I woke up this morning, I genuinely thought it was Friday. 😂 What a letdown. 😲
No rest for the weary while this reconstruction drags on... except it feels like we're never actually getting to the finish line. 😉
Meanwhile, I've been basically living on tea for days now to try and fight this bug
Of course, exceptions just prove the rule.
It doesn't matter—I wouldn't mind visiting this place by myself... though I'd definitely prefer being there with you......
Of course—what you'd expect from this country and its people! 🙄
Thanks so much! I'll
So, why is it so quiet in here?
I have so many questions and things I want to share, so it feels a little weird seeing so few people active right now. Is it always this slow?
Ugh... I’m trying to find some info regarding an account freeze, but I have no idea if there’s already a thread about it. I haven't been around for a little while, so I'm totally out of the loop. Can someone just point me toward the right topic so I don't end up repeating things? I tried using the search bar, but it's just throwing everything at me.

So, here’s the situation: every accounting firm I’ve reached out to is asking for an absolute fortune, and frankly, I just can't swing it. I'm seriously considering shutting down my small business, though I'd hate to. Last year was a wash—personal issues outside of work meant my revenue was basically non-existent. I had an accountant at first, but given how little business I was actually doing, I decided to try handling the books myself to save money. It hasn't exactly been a game-changer.
Does anyone know of a service that scales their fees based on transaction volume or total invoice amounts? This is more of a hobby for me, and once I pay the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and various taxes, there’s nothing left over.
I'm assuming nobody pays based on the invoice totals. It's usually based on the volume of paperwork, or rather, the actual work and reports the accountants have to generate.
What kind of numbers are we talking about when you say it's too much?
Just wanted to say hi to ☕ .....I haven't been on the forum for a while

They just flood the market with junk, and then everyone wonders why they're constantly replacing broken stuff. But apparently, that doesn't bother the average person here in America. I personally refuse to buy anything made in China. I’d much rather pay a little extra for quality than deal with literal trash. I won't even step foot in their stores, let alone give them a dime. Honestly, we should be supporting our own American companies so our people actually have jobs, instead of bumping into some little fat Chinese person on every street corner. I get that domestic goods cost more, but importing garbage isn't the answer.
Look, you don't have to step inside a Chinese store to be buying their goods. There's a factory right here in town that sews clothes for Benetton, and everything they produce says Made in China. So, let's not get ahead of ourselves with these naive arguments; I'm pretty sure about 80% of what you see in American stores was manufactured in China.

I work for a company that imports some goods from China.
Honestly, I think you should just go there. Yeah, the flight is pricey, but you won't truly get it until you see it with your own eyes. Plus, for a lot of products, they require you to buy in bulk. You really have to haggle with them, too. Even if you fly out there and strike a deal, they might end up sending you something slightly different. They aren't 100% reliable, and shipments can be late... but man, they are cheap. And the gadgets and machinery they have? It's unbelievable. There are things I didn't even know existed until my company started importing from them. It’s wild. You really have to experience that madness and excitement in person to understand.
If I were in your shoes, I'd go. Both for the business side of things and for the quick trip—it'll be a totally different culture than ours. You might as well combine pleasure with business; it'll definitely help your career. And the flight isn't even that bad, you can find deals around $2167 dollars. Even a 4-star hotel with Wi-Fi can cost you about $25.
