Raw materials from China, but they call it an American product??? Give me a break.

And are you actually being serious? You go out of your way to pay someone else, and then you act shocked when they screw you over...

You're probably a good person who actually trusts people, but once you get burned—like I have, more than a few times—your whole outlook on people changes.

There’s probably like 1% of people out there who are decent and actually need help, and they'd actually appreciate it...

So, what kind of goods would you actually import? They never bothered giving me samples—it was just as I described before... plus, you have to handle the shipping yourself...

Honestly, it seems a bit sketchy if someone offers you the product, the freight, and everything else all at once... but maybe that's just how the market is right now...

I haven't heard of anyone giving out free samples yet. Most of them just tell you that if you stick with them and start placing larger orders, they'll credit the cost of those initial samples toward your first big shipment. That's basically how it works...

Maybe you’re the one who actually did it?

And I see the person who started this thread has "hair on their head"—you owe everyone a massive apology, and honestly, this whole thing is a total mess. Given how you act, I’m starting to doubt every single word you've said.

Look, he didn't just shove that cash into his own pocket. The teller handed it over. So what, he’s a thief now? Give me a break. Does anyone actually think that would fly in court? Honestly, I don't even think $3k is enough worth a lawsuit. By the time you pay for lawyers and deal with all the appeals, you're already in the red.

And if they're supposed to be so damn smart, why didn't Bank of America catch the error when they processed the garnishment?

They should try going to the guy who collected the money and demanding it back because they messed up the books. Just wait until you see how he reacts. That'll be interesting.

Besides, you can technically sue for lost time, emotional distress, stress, and whatever else fits under those categories.

Why are you guys even defending people who don't deserve it?

Look... I get what you're saying about being honest and all, but when it's time to pay them and you're even a single day late, they hit you with interest immediately. You can't just tell them "my paycheck hasn't cleared yet" and expect a break—they just sit there stacking up those fees. They always hide behind the fine print in the contract...

Honestly, I wouldn't give them a dime... When things go sideways at work and my money is tied up, suddenly it's "too bad" and "pay up now." No flexibility whatsoever.

At the end of the day, if you don't have the cash, what are they actually going to take from you???

Look, I don't think this is on you. I had a situation where they processed my transaction in the wrong currency entirely, and when I pointed it out, the clerk basically implied it was my "goodwill" if I wanted to help them fix it, otherwise... well, she wasn't being polite.

If that's how they're treating you, just walk away. That's my take. They have absolutely no right to mock your situation.

You did your part by paying the money. Whatever mess they made is their problem. Personally, I wouldn't have let them get away with it. So what if they shut down your American Express? Once you land a job, just head over to a different bank and start fresh there.

Which bank was it and where? Give us the details so we know who to avoid.

I feel totally lost in this wilderness... figure that expression out if you can.

Can someone please walk me through how to import stuff from China?
I found a company selling LED lighting at great prices, and I want to grab a few units first to check the quality before committing to a huge shipment.

So, initially, this would just be for my own use, not for reselling.

What does the process look like, and what should I expect?

Feel free to email me too

Thanks!:

Don't bother importing. I actually have plenty of LED samples on hand that were imported exactly like the ones you're looking at.

Hit me up if you're interested!
