Quarantine Life

If you actually start feeling under the weather—let's say those first symptoms hit you—that’s Day Zero. Your official isolation period begins the very next day, which becomes Day One. You’re looking at a full 10 days of staying tucked away, meaning you can finally step foot outside on the 11th day. For instance, if you start feeling symptomatic on November 6th, then November 7th is your first official day of isolation, leading up to the end of your tenth day on November 16th; that means you can head out the door at 12:01 AM on November 17th.
Now, if you aren't showing any symptoms but you still need to isolate—say, because of some exposure or whatever—you're looking at a 10-day quarantine starting from the day you get tested. You can emerge on the 11th day. To put it plainly: if you take the test on November 6th, your last day of isolation is November 16th, so you’re free to rejoin society at 12:01 AM on November 17th.
Thanks. Even though I didn't technically isolate right when my symptoms showed up (mostly just a sore throat and some coughing), my doctor thought it was just my usual allergies acting up. She wasn't convinced I was sick, so I went ahead and did an antigen test myself just to be safe, even though it's already Day 8 since the symptoms started. Doing that before heading in for a PCR.
