Curfew restrictions: Is it legal to leave your house?

Hey there.
I was wondering how people handled being away from home back when the spring lockdowns hit... specifically regarding those travel restrictions.
See, the thing is, we actually headed out to our cabin before they started requiring all those permits, and we ended up staying put until just after the New Year passed.
I did try to talk my way past the local sheriff's deputies, and they gave me this sort of noncommittal answer—basically saying I shouldn't run into any trouble whether I was heading out or trying to get back to my primary residence, but then they suggested I check online to see if anyone else had actually dealt with it... so, if anyone has been through this before, I'm all ears...
