If they actually have the permits, does that mean we can open an account?
I checked the website, and we still aren't on the list:

A similar issue popped up in a conversation I had recently. Someone mentioned they were running into trouble because they kept their cards tucked right inside their phone case. Ended up "wearing out" the cards over the course of the year.
What if I actually end up needing the online banking features?
I was leaning toward JPMorgan Chase at first, but after seeing all those warnings and reading a few posts, I'm starting to second-guess things. I've also got Wells Fargo or maybe Bank of America on my radar.
If I'm reading this right, Bank of America lets you deposit cash directly into your account via an ATM. Does anyone else have that kind of setup?
I’m looking to open a basic checking account. Honestly, I don't plan on using any of the extra bells and whistles—no online banking or anything like that—now or anytime soon.
Can anyone tell me which banks I should stay far away from?
I’ve been digging through various threads about different banks, but everything feels so scattered. I even downloaded fee schedules from their websites, but I’m still stuck in indecision.
Everyone seems to have such wildly different experiences with these places, but I’m flying blind here. I tried reading through old forum posts, but half of them are one, two, maybe three years old. They aren't much help since things change so fast.
Is there any way I can find out if they actually picked up the cash, and if so, when?
