I used to have Aetna supplemental coverage, but after dealing with their sheer rudeness and sub-par service, I switched over to the private plan. Now, I’m seeing announcements that supplemental premiums are going up.
Does this mean my current provider is going to hike my rates too? And if they do, do I actually have the right to cancel my contract? I signed on specifically for the price of $22, so it feels wrong to be locked into a deal while they reserve the right to jack up the cost whenever they feel like it—not to mention likely cutting corners on service quality at the same time.
Look, if you signed a contract for $22, then that's what you're locked into for now... it stays valid until you decide to cancel it. They know damn well that if they raise rates too high, a massive crowd of people is gonna jump ship... so for now, you stick to the rate you signed for until the moment you choose to drop the supplemental plan...
