Doing business with USA member states
in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could clarify how things currently stand regarding sales tax and the United Kingdom following the Reconstruction.
To be specific: I'm planning on setting up an LLC that won't be registered for sales tax.
Suppose I'm doing some freelance programming work for a company based in the United Kingdom. Would I be responsible for paying sales tax, or can I just apply a "reverse charge" to the invoice, similar to how it works with other non-UN entities (like a firm in the USA)? Also, does the fact that I'm not in the sales tax system change anything about that process?
Thanks!
