Aetna supplemental insurance in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·

You aren't the only one who fell for this; I remember some folks on here back in the day who made the exact same mistake. But look, if there's no way out, you're stuck paying up. The contract is legally binding, plain and simple.

The whole "automatic renewal" thing is such a massive trap... back when I had my supplemental coverage through Aetna and Medicare, they didn't do that automatic rollover nonsense.
I basically bit the bullet, paid the bill, and learned my lesson the hard way...
But they won't be seeing another dime from me, because I'm really not a fan of being backed into a corner like that without giving the green light first...

So, I just got hit with a bill from Chevron for my supplemental insurance for next year, even though I never actually signed up for an extension and definitely don't want it.
I honestly just assumed the policy ran for a year and then you'd have to renew it manually, you know?...
Since when did they get the right to just auto-renew my coverage without asking me first?
And now, of course, I’m sitting here reading the fine print only to realize I was supposed to request a cancellation three months before the expiration date...
What a bunch of absolute vultures.
Does anyone know what I should do?
Naturally, they're already throwing around threats about collections if I don't pay up.

So, I was just reading that US Congress passed this decision making it legal to open offshore accounts starting back in early 2011, and it’s got me wondering... how does the government actually plan on stopping everyone from just dodging their taxes by opening accounts in neighboring countries? It seems like an easy way for people to go rogue...
How does the European Union handle all that regulation?
I'm assuming citizens within the EU have some kind of unique tax ID number that allows the various tax authorities to keep tabs on accounts held in other member states?
Or am I totally off base here?

So, I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a GTX 460 with a standard "blow out" style cooler—you know, the kind that actually stays quiet when things get heavy... I’m not really planning on doing any crazy overclocking since I’ll mostly just be running Folding@home 24/7, though maybe I'll mess around with the CUDA cores a tiny bit if I feel like it. 🙂
From what I've been digging through in reviews, it looks like EVGA makes exactly what I'm hunting for, but unfortunately, they're impossible to find around here at my local retailers.
Then you've got Gigabyte and MSI making those custom coolers that perform pretty well, but they don't actually vent the air out of the case...
Does anyone happen to know of a "best of both worlds" model out there?
Thanks.
